  1. Hi guys, So the smoke unit is one from Kyle over at TRS trains, so no heater element. when I spoke to Kyle he wasn't sure why it is behaving so weirdly. so far as we could tell the smoke unit should turn off when F25 is set to off, but it only works when the locomotive is at a standstill, if I try and do so whilst in motion, it doesn't respond to the command, and I have to repeat it when stationary for it to listen. Is this a decoder fault or is there a CV value I've somehow missed or changed and not realised? Regards Mike
  2. So I have a Hornby Battle of Britain fitted with a Zimo MX645R and a synchronised smoke unit, however I have found an issue I am unsure how to fix/ if it can be fixed? When stationary the loco lets out a whisp of smoke, and when running chuffs in sync with the onboard sound, now the issue lies in turning the smoke on and off, if the smoke is off I can turn it on at any time and it will work as intended, If I try to turn it off however this can only be done when stationary, it will not turn off if the locomotive is moving. I cannot find any reason why this would be happening and so I am open to suggestions. The Sound File is from Youchoos and I have no issues with the sound in the slightest, but I cannot work out why the smoke is failing to turn off on command. Current CV's with different values to standard: CV5 = 95 CV18 = 164 CV121 = 99 CV131= 72 CV133 = 1 CV351= 255 CV352 = 255 CV355 = 8 CV420 = 25 CV425 = 20 CV430 = 20 CV432 = 5 CV434 = 5 my smoke is assigned to F25 as can be seen from the above CV, (Default is F20)
  3. Steve what sort of solder are you using for your models? Is it regular electrical solder or are you silver soldering?
