  1. We have also been weathering up BBA and BLA wagons these too will be available to buy at the show
  2. We are now producing steel coil loads for the BLA wagons These are 3D printed in resin. Painted and finished sets are £20 unpainted sets £10 these will be available this weekend at GETS in Milton Keynes and directly from us afterwards
  3. The tie-downs are from Scale Model Scenics.
  4. I may be mistaken but I’m sure the Heljan Kestrel used class 47 bogie sides. That might simplify the search
  5. Hi we are looking at the option of a base coated model in sand or green. they are likely to be in the £15-£18 range depending on effort involved bearing in mind these would be finished by hand in the UK and are not mass produced.
  6. We are often being asked about vehicles for the Warflats, and there aren't many modern loads around. So we've gone and had one designed... This is our 3D printed kit of the British Army 4x4 WMIK in 1:76 scale. And this is what they can look like, when completed and loaded onto a KFA These will be available from our stand at the GETS show this weekend, and directly from us from next week. The kits are priced at £10 each and include paint masks for the wheels.
  7. well, if anyone is looking for a Fell now… http://www.trains4u.com/search I haven’t gotten around to adding photos yet.
  8. Hi Paul these are from the first batch of weathering and are representative of their end of life condition. The post at the top of the page shows the lighter weathering we are applying to later batches.
  9. very soon! there will be an update once they are here and gone through QC
  10. Thank you for the constructive feedback. the coupling hooks were identified as an issue. A heavier gauge hook is being supplied with the remanufactured wagons. I am trying to see if spares can be obtained for anyone who might need them. The vertical height of the couplings seems to be down to the pressure used (or lack of) to fit them. It ought to be possible to align them by pushing fully home, but I appreciate that this should not be something you, as a customer, should have to do. with regards the other issues pointed out. These have been brought to the attention of Cavalex, but it I will leave it to them to respond.
  11. If D&E is your thing, we’ve taken in a large collection of OO locos and rolling stock, Give us a call, or better still, drop in if there is anything of interest!
  12. I don’t want it to be said that we don’t pay attention to customers! Whilst our weathering of the HAAs has been generally well received, it is appreciated that some customers have found it a bit on the heavy side. The weathering produced thus-far was based on wagons in their late 90s -00s condition. We have been playing around with the finish, and now have a pattern for an 80s/early 90s condition our next batch of weathering will be done to this standard, and we will introduce these as C and D versions (D will have tyre marks) giving customers the choice of light or heavy weathering. We will advise when these wagons will be available as we are currently working through several hundred wagons. As before, we will provide an identical batch to KMS Railtech for distribution to their customers.
  13. If the weathering is too heavy and you are not satisfied with them, we will be happy to supply a rake with lighter weathering, or exchange them for pristine wagons which are due soon. our weathering has been carried out using photographs for reference, and we have tried to replicate in-service condition, but I can understand that the weathering may be a bit heavy for some tastes. We are trying a lighter touch with the next batch to see how they work out, and we have opportunity to try a “lightly weathered option” The weathered wagons are now available from ourselves and KMS in limited numbers at £99.95 per pack of three, with twelve different packs available. http://www.trains4u.com/c/656/Cavalex
  14. We are working through the wagons and it is taking time! We now have sufficient to supply both ourselves and KMS with a batch to sell. Given that our pre-order customers have been waiting patiently for rectified models, we all felt it would be best to give them first refusal, and at no additional cost. The initial delivery contained varying quantities of each version. We thought the fairest way to handle this is for the batch to be split evenly down the middle between Trains4U and KMS Railtech and we each have evenly split quantities of all 12 different packs. This means that we have some KMS branded packs, and KMS have some Trains4U branded packs, but this only applies to the weathered versions. We are planning to release the wagons generally in a week or so, once we have contacted our preorder customers. The weathered packs will be available in two versions A version - evenly weathered B version - with tyre shunter marks On general release, the weathered packs will be available at £99.95 per pack of three. We are still working through them (there are a lot) so there may be a short wait whilst we complete subsequent batches of weathering. Meanwhile, the remanufactured clean wagons are getting close to being shipped and we look forward to making them available soon. These will be available at £89.95 per pack. Thanks again
  15. Just to say, the reviews for these are now appearing in the press, though they are now getting hard to find. We still have stocks of all versions available (Albeit in very small numbers in some cases) http://www.trains4u.com/c/656/Cavalex
  16. I understand that the old Fratton Bargain Shop (latterly St. Petrocks models?) Has finally closed down. It used to be my local. Always filled me with wonder, and was my inspiration for wanting a model shop of my own. But even by the time I left Portsmouth in 1994 it had seemed to have declined quite significantly from its heyday in the mid 80s.
  17. We have, this evening, and despite promises to the contrary (though made by my now redundant sales rep) Received an email from Hornby advising that our “set-in-stone”allocations of the A4 “Sir Nigel Gresley” and Dublo set have been cut. This will probably be true for most retailers. some of you are going to get some disappointing news I’m afraid.
  18. These are Hornby booking office steps we have more in our secondhand than we can poke a stick at. (about £2.50 each) give us a call on 01733 895989 (tue-sat 10-5) and I’m sure we can sort you out.
  19. we posted a short video on our Facebook feed yesterday https://fb.watch/dR1YAY3f5_/ they have a good speaker in them.
  20. I have a couple remaining… on your marks… go! http://www.trains4u.com/p/64801/Bachmann-39-737DC-BR-Mk2F-DBSO-(Refurbished)-Driving
  21. We are booking on our delivery today keep your eyes open… We got a few more NR DBSOs allocated than I realised.
  22. Why do you ask? If you are looking to buy, we still have all versions except the KBAs left in stock
  23. All versions of the TEA are now in stock and available to order http://www.trains4u.com/b/250/Cavalex-Models TEA singles £45 TEA triples £135 KBA twins £90
  24. The problem isn’t severe, but it is enough that, if left, could have resulted in criticism more damaging than choosing not to release them. It was an avoidable assembly mistake that couldn’t have been foreseen by anyone in the UK, especially as factory visits are a no-go at the moment. These things happen occasionally unfortunately, It makes me wonder how many models land with other suppliers that never see the light of day…?
