  1. Hi all, I received my Sound-Fitted example of GBRf 92 032 this morning. My first impressions with the Accurascale Class 92 were far from perfect. Now, I don't know if it's just me but I have came across some issues with my model. Please review attachments. 1. On initial inspection, first issue I noticed were that one of the horns seemed to have been bent. Now, I would try and bend it back but I worry that If I do, I could completely snap it off. 2. At some point in the production line, it looks as though the model has been bashed on the lowest portion of the locomotive body. This has left a noticeable chip on the body. 3. The model suffers with light bleed. This occurs within the headlight lens' themselves and the middle yellow portion between the 2 headlight clusters. 4. I switched on the cab light to see that there is some sort of residue on one of the cab desks. 5. The model has a couple paint blemishes. To some, you could think I'm being harsh or nitpicking but the thing is, when paying a premium price, you expect things to be perfect. To conclude, I'm not saying I dislike the model. I very much do like the Accurascale Class 92, I have just been unlucky with my specific example. The detail on this model is second to none and the performance and sound is flawless.
  2. Hi all, just a quick question... What sort of glue should I use to attach figures to the a passenger coach. I know that if you use the wrong type of glue, it can cloud up the plastic glazing. Any links will be appreciated. Thank you for your help.
  3. Hi all, I have recently aqqiured an XC Class 221. On my VT 221, it is fitted with an illuminated models LED kit (3x decoders). That came out to be rather expensive. With my XC 221, i would also like to convert it to DCC but by using 1 decoder only. I have purchased a DCC socket for my XC 221 and I wish to add LED head/tail lighting myself without the use of a kit and less decoders to keep costs down. I will be using micro-JST cables to carry current from centre motor coach through the whole train. I was thinking of conductive couplings but the Voyagers coupling pockets are not nem. In addition, I would like to add LED interior lighting. Now, for the interior lighting strips, will the lights require contact pickups on each set of wheels or can I just use the current from the JST cables only? Thank you for reading.
  4. Sound fitted version of mine arrived this morning. Loco is whisper quiet when sound is off. However, the packaging for the loco itself is a let down. I thought it would've been in an "ice-block". Also, it's a shame that the individual number of the pack is missing on the certificate. It can be seen on the websites picture however. How are we supposed to know what number we have?
  5. Guys it's official... What a shame. Usual Hornby cutting corners and being lazy ONCE again. Sigh.
  6. Hi all, knowing as the Bachmann Voyager is an old model... it has old, dim and nasty bulbs. I myself have a semi-dcc Bachmann 221 ( I hardwired a decoder in the motor coach). Anyways, I stumbled upon Express Model's DCC lighting kit for the Voyagers to convert to LED lighting but unfortunately, they are out of stock. Could anyone be willing to point me in the right direction on how I can carry out this conversion on my own or know of any companies that could do this for me at a resonable cost? Thank you for your help, Luke.
  7. Hi all, I have a LM Class 350 I want to convert to DCC. What 21 pin guagemaster decoder should I buy? DCC 91 - 2 Function: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Gaugemaster-DCC91-Ruby-2fn-Standard-DCC-Decoder-21-Pin-0-5A-Suit-Hornby-Bachmann-/184051812215?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49292 DCC 95 - 6 Function: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Gaugemaster-DCC95-Ruby-6fn-Pro-DCC-Decoder-21-Pin-0-5A-Suit-Hornby-Bachmann-/184051816695?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49292 Thank you for your help, Luke
  8. Just a quick update, I rang up Bachmann themselves and sorted me out. Great service.
  9. Hi all! I have a Bachmann Class 350 that has a 21-pin DCC decoder fitted to it. Strangely enough - it works on DC. No issues there. However... on DCC power the coach automatically jolts between a slow and fast speed. I've tried registering the decoder on a seprate piece of track with my Hornby Select. No luck from that... Any help would be great. Cheers, Luke
  10. Hi all! New member here. Would anyone know where I can source spare sprung buffers for the Hornby 56 and spare ploughs and dummy couplings for the Bachmann 150? Tried looking on eBay but I've found nothing. If anyone has anything on offer please message me. Cheers, Luke
