  1. We invite you to join us to mark the 5th anniversary of the opening of the Guildford Branch with a special in store event on Friday 17th May. The Guildford branch opened on 1st May 2019 and was chosen as a location as being familiar to KMRC, following the then regular exhibition attendances in the area, and noting there was a lack of any dedicated model shops to be found in the locality. The event at the Guildford store on Friday 17th May will include: several manufacturers being present including Hornby, Bachmann and Rapido trains UK, a brand-new tooled KMRC Exclusive product announcement and a range of special offers available only to those that attend on the day. Visitors will be able to meet the members of the Guildford branch team and also the opportunity to speak with Chris Trerise, Managing Director and Graham Muspratt, Development Manager. Chris Trerise, Managing Director, said: “We look forward to celebrating the 5th anniversary of the open of the Guildford with another of our now popular in store events, we look forward to welcoming our guests and customers alike on the 17th May to the Guildford branch.” Chris continued: “this will be the first of two in-store events this year as our Camborne branch annual event will be Friday 20th September.” The Guildford store is located at: 75b Stoke Road, Guildford, GU1 4HT and is open between 9.30am and 5pm.
  2. KMRC have announced an Exclusive model as Moger & CO. Ltd - LB&SCR as per thread below
  3. Kernow Model Rail Centre announce an Exclusive 00 Gauge 1907 RCH 12T seven plank open wagon in the livery of Moger & Co Ltd as running on the London, Brighton and South Coast Railway (LB&SCR). Joseph Moger and his sons were coal merchants and known to have operated by 1865 out of LB&SCR yards at Crystal Palace (including high level), Gipsy Hill, Norwood junction and Penge stations. By the turn of the century Moger also had a presence at yards including Tulse Hill, Peckham, Sydenham, Epsom, Ewell, Merton Abbey and Raynes Park. Wagon number 232 was one of twenty 12T seven plank wagons built by Charles Roberts in 1911 numbered 232 to 241 and lettered “Moger& Co Ltd” and although registered by the South Eastern and Chatham Railway they were lettered as L.B.&S.C.Rly. The Kernow Model Rail Centre Exclusive highly detailed model in 00 Gauge is being produced for KMRC by Rapido Trains UK Ltd. The model is based on their RCH 1907 specification seven Plank open wagon and features angled brake hangers, double sided brakes, round bottomed grease axle boxes, smooth tapered buffers and split spoke wheels running in brass bearings. The Exclusive model 967233 Rapido RCH 1907 7 Plank Open Wagon number 232 - Moger is priced at £32.95 and is available now online and from both Kernow Model Rail Centre branches. Matthew Mazzocchi-Higgs, Guildford Branch Manager said: “I am pleased that we can announce our first Exclusive local 00 Gauge wagon the “No. 232 Moger & Co Ltd.” Wagon in partnership with Rapido Trains UK. This wagon being LB&SCR based was an ideal choice for our exclusive model with the LB&SCR having arrived at Guildford in 1865.” Matthew continued: “the wagon will also be in stock and available to purchase at our Guildford store open event on Friday 17th May when we will have a number of other manufacturers present along with in store special offers on the day.”
  4. Bogies... As spotted by Robin above, the distinctive 9 foot wheelbase bogies either 'Fish belly' or 'Equalising beam' as fitted to our GWR Steam Railmotors (Diagram O and R respectively) are also suitable for use with other GWR coach types, we have therefore made these available as RTR complete spare parts with wheels, brake rigging and electrical pick ups, suitable for kit builders etc. Click here to order https://www.kernowmodelrailcentre.com/pg/144/GWR-Steam-Railmotor#Bogies
  5. With preparation for attending exhibitions this weekend (the van is now on the road) and Alexandra Palace next it has been a busy week. 8. Hopefully this goes someway to help appreciate the amount of work that goes into the production of the thousands of these models made with the level of detail and fidelity that the market demands.
  9. Whilst the last pre-ordered non-sound pre-ordered Railmotors have been sent, we are continuing to complete the pre-orders for sound-fitted models. These models are fitted at our workshop and we currently still have, over 300 to fit, as new orders are arriving almost faster than it takes us to fit them, however all sound fitted orders placed prior to December 2022 have been dispatched, so please be patient! These models have been incredibly popular, we are down to limited stocks of K2302 and K2303 and amazingly now sold out of K2305. We are of course also processing and dispatching our standard run rate of online orders at the same time! We thank everyone for your patience, the outstanding models will be with you very soon, there is no need to contact us to ask where the models are.
  10. As stated on our dedicated page here https://www.kernowmodelrailcentre.com/pg/144/KMRC-Locomotive---GWR-Steam-Railmotor DCC Sound running on DC information: The Railmotor sound project will produce all automatic sounds on DC the same as under DCC – this includes chuffs, start-off release, come-to-halt sounds, and certain random sounds. As with any sound decoder running under DC, the decoder kicks into life above a threshold voltage – somewhere between 5V and 9V, so you will be running the loco in the top part of your throttle’s voltage range, but otherwise is quite controllable.
  11. GWR Steam Railmotor Update We can advise that the last non-sound pre-ordered Railmotors will be sent out by the end of today (05/02/24), and we are continuing to complete the pre-orders for sound-fitted models.
