A good observation. It will gain the same status as the Wife, just attracting my attention when things need paying for.

I pray he does - otherwise the consequences for a certain country who unleashed this virus on the world, could be nuclear...

  4. Does the MOD still have ramp wagons to go with it's WAFLATS and WARWELLS?

  5. I have a kit of parts for a Westinghouse signal machine on my workbench. I also have stress levels off the scale and some bits left.

  6. I know i'll change a defective point motor for one with exactly the same fault on the hottest day of the year. That'll be fun.

  7. I must have spent an hour on the net looking for ETS jumpers for the ends of my Mk1 Bullion Van. Is it i can't see the wood for the trees or does no one make them?

  8. It must be heading towards winter... The model railway has seen it's first movements since April.

Hope you sent a pilot engine around with a brush to dislodge the spiders!

  9. Just about to install a third intermediate token machine in section. This has to be fairly unique in this day and age?

  10. OO gauge inside. G gauge and a full size signalling simulation outside and I have to stay at home. I may cope.

  11. Where did that spring go from that adaptor base? It'll show up i guess probably jamming the mechanism on a loco or similar... No i've just knelt on it.

Not in this instance. Mine just chew signals.

  14. A perfect day for a bit of modelling so i moved a signalbox. The police escort were keen to get away to deal with Eunice incidents.

  15. A whole evening spent making a second hand Hornby A4 work. My paws are definitely not meant for handling some of those parts.

  16. An extremely busy week planned. Perfect time to catch covid.

  17. Anyone got a spare HABD? I’m currently trying to improve some Triang Ore wagons. Found some second hand wheels. Some had been given conducting paint to make the axle live for pickups. No problem. Only use one in each metal frame wagon to avoid any problems. Didn’t take metal couplings into account. Real flames. Melted insulation in a wheel set. Doh. Who says model railways aren’t exciting?

  18. Aobtd. This one should go back togeter though.

  19. Damned bug is still giving trouble. Another day lost sitting in A&E being prodded, poked and stuff being pumed in.

It seems so. Apparently long covid is declared after 12 weeks. I'm not quite there yet and don't intend to be.

Good to hear you are almost there. I have a good mate that says he is OK for a while and then jusy gets extreme fatigue out of the blue for a few days and then is OK again; fairly typical Virus after affects I think? Hope it sorts itself out soon buddy.

I feel I'm on the mend. Not so for Mrs LNERGE. Keeping an eye on the kids but nothing of concern so far.

  22. I had some etched tell tale fittings for the end of Mk1 coaches. I've searched but I can't find them for sale anywhere. Any ideas?

I found an etch at last (in the box marked coach kit bits of all places). Now I need to find where it came from so I can get some more..

      That sounds painful.

Of course, my observation might have something to do with my past experiences of long distance rail commuting - or "transportation", as one rail operator appeared to view it.

Well, they did seem keen to maintain certain traditions (allegedly) ... .

  24. I managed to solder the sole bars into the wrong holes. With the aid of a cooker and a few tools the day has been saved.
