  1. Of absolutely no use to you but showing a bit of stagework for the rebuilding.. I'll look through the locking details i have for Cresent/Spital/North and see if there is anything about the colourlights..
  2. Dudding Hill signalbox in Dudden Hill NW London is another that got lost in translation.
  3. The railway and brick company could agree on the name..
  4. Sandy. Kelmarsh, Islip, Saffron Walden etc all mentioned as current terminals.. http://www.linewatch.co.uk/map-PDF/map-GPSS.pdf
  5. Sandy Heath, part of the British Pipeline Agency network linked through to France just after D Day.. The site of the sidings is clearly visible on Google Earth..

    EBay madness

you are undoubtedly right but i have so much stuff hanging around that i'll never get round to doing anything with.... To look the part i'd probably need another ten or so anyway.

    EBay madness

I have a couple i'll take an offer on...
  8. Of course! Lets make a nuisance of ourselves if it takes any longer than it did in 1968.. I'm sure if the TV people are there they'd listen. I have the last train staff for the line complete with key for the level crossings that can join the WTT on a jaunt.
  9. My book of gradients by The Railway Magazine, 1936 states an unshaded diamond is a moderate or slight speed restriction and a shaded diamond is a severe speed restriction.
  10. I believe this was one of the fog repeaters that was located somewhere near the signals at the north end of Peterborough station..
  11. It does look a rather unhappy structure. When was the strengthening added? Are the any pictures of the tunnel with track in it?
  12. I should be able to lay my hands on locking tables and dog charts for Peterborough North..
  13. Beautiful. I look forward to seeing the signals in place.. There is a thread on the LNER forum with a view from the cab of a loco looking south at the North box. The thread is titled 'Views from the cab'..
  14. I don't have a photo but this box diagram shows No1 crossing and it's angle... http://richard2890.fotopic.net/p36793144.html Three Horse Shoes No2 and 3 are still gated at this date. It is the same road crossing all three crossings..
  15. I noticed there was a vintage bus event at Duxford on Sunday. I wonder if there was guided bus on display? Blanc Pachyderm.
  16. I'm on the case.. I have sent an email to an ex GN mainline signalman asking one or two questions and i'll pass on any reply.
  17. This is a later Spital Junction diagram. This is diesel era for sure and probably heading towards the end of mechanical signalling judging by the evidence of overlays, none of which remove Up Goods Departure from view. Also of note on both diagrams is the line is track circuited.
  18. This is a later Peterborough North diagram and they have gone to the trouble to remove the north bay lines but the Up Goods Departure Line remains. Also by this stage one road is marked Loco Fuelling. I would say this line remained in use at this stage.
  19. There was a similar arrangement at Bounds Green called the connecting line installed around the same time. I think by the date of this diagram thing's had been simplified a little.. http://richard2890.fotopic.net/p55247139.html Trains could sneak round the connecting line and work their way into Liverpool Street via Palace Gates and Seven Sisters.
  20. I could probably lay my hands on the documents containing details of the dog charts, locking tables and lever description plates for all the boxes if they are of any use.
  21. I've spent a little while studying the various Peterborough signalbox diagrams. I have to say that operation must have been very interesting. The down goods starts on the down side, crosses to the upside at Spital Junction and crosses back to the downside at Werrington Junction. There seems to be various routes through the yards, crossed by up road lines, loco lines, transfer lines and just about anything else. The up goods fairs a little better but look at the up goods departure at Peterborough North..This really has to be an afterthought?
  22. I have uploaded Peterborough North x2, Werrington Junction, New England North, and Crescent Junction. http://richard2890.fotopic.net/c710126.html If you want them emailed directly drop me a PM with an email address. Edit... I've somehow managed to post Werrington Junction in the wrong place... http://richard2890.fotopic.net/p66770264.html
  23. I have a few more box diagrams of Peterborough North, Crescent and Spital Junctions i can upload to my site if you are interested..
  24. I plan to travel on the Cambridge misguided busway if it ever opens armed with the last passenger working timetable so i can have a good chuckle at the 'progress' in modern transport systems. To think a Cravens would have been able to make the journey quicker... Looking at some of the photo's i've seen of the misguided busway there seems to be no provision for bidirectional working. What happens if a bus breaks down in section?
