  1. Would doing them as 3 coach packs work allowing some to get some bits, like a 2x TSO and a BSO for a ‘short set’ then additional ones like 3xFO’s and a TSO, RFO, FO work for those that want to build the train?
  2. Have we had any further update on this one? Will it now be a plux22 chip? It’s been a very long time coming…
  3. As much as I think that the Mk2.f from Bachmann is a good example of the coach, the lack of variety of releases makes me think it’s could be done by someone else. I think every other Mk.2 type can be done because the gulf in quality and detail is massive compared to these new ones. I agree I think that modern image charter rakes have been truly forgotten by most barring Bachmann’s WCRC stuff and now Accurascale’s stuff. considering these coaches can be seen everywhere on the network they cover all regions.
  4. In all honesty I think Bachmann have massively under utilised this new tooling. So far they produced models like 375 and 790 but these are no good as the common machines can be renumbered and people would buy 2/3 not just one and that’s if they like that one. They really need to use the tooling create the real odd balls like 601/901 like the flush fronted DRS ones not the celebrities. But they need to deliver the odd standard one too that people can do some (dare I say it) modelling and renumbering too. They will find boxes shift then a mix is what you want but I just don’t see them doing this at the moment.
  5. You won’t be able to put a 21 pin decoder in as it will need a 22 pin connection. However it’s plug and play just like the 21 pin ones, open the model up plug in the Plux22 chip (you will need to buy a plux22 chip) and then it should have programming instructions with it. If you’re looking for more customisation by using a lokprogrammer or individually altering the CV’s on a programming track. Hope this helps!
  6. I hate to be one of those people but, is there any update to which liveries will be done? Or when you might be announcing which ones your doing? Still hoping for a northern one!
  7. The thing is now that if you want to model anything past 2000ish then units are a staple of your layout, and as time has gone on 2010 onwards locos only exist on IC workings or freight. Units sell because they are required for the layout to work as an accurate representation, they sell not particularly because everyone likes them but because you have to have them.
  8. The actual loco is fitted with Air brakes and a (Westinghouse?) air pump as such, will be fully fitted with GSMR, AWS and modern equipment. Whether the model is correct is another question…
  9. I’m sorry, My point was that there isn’t a 125 capable fleet being developed or available right now for an operator. I’m well aware of those you’ve quoted but good luck with keeping any of those options in service for more than 15 years. Capable yes, allowed no. They are currently a max speed 110mph due to track wear issues AFAIK.
  10. If I may, do we know when another batch of Loksound V5’s are due for the 37’s? Ideally I’m after one Un-refurbished and a couple of refurb ones, I’d assume they would be due when the next batch comes into stock but I never assume
  11. To save those lovely people at AS, once again the project page is updated regularly whenever each project gets an update, as per the last update the AS 66 are “In Transit” which leaves you at the liberty of the Houthi rebels and if the ship goes the long way or the short way round. And I’ve heard the rebels love an Accurascale model more than us! https://www.accurascale.com/pages/projects
  12. I’d argue they have operated over an incredibly large area! WCML Glasgow to Manchester, ECML Newcastle to Leeds, Cleethorpes to Liverpool via Sheffield, the transpennine route itself, Blackpool, Barrow-in-Furness. If you were in the north, you’d be hard pressed to be at a location that hasn’t been visited by them! They’ve had 3 major liveries with multiple one off’s and even then there’s been various branding removed and applied to vary those major liveries. I think this is a case of North vs. South, SWT 450’s have been done and I’d argue they go over a smaller geographical area, albeit a more concentrated number of them. But they have also carried less liveries and variations.
  13. I was only thinking that yesterday, I don’t think they would be scared to replace something already available and a 185 would be an instant win, with the other units in the desiro family available after with smart tooling such as 360, 350, 450, 444 then maybe even the 380? The voyager unit is a low hanging fruit again along with the 170, which again could lead to 168, 171 and 172 toolings and then it’s similar body to the electro stars I believe if the tooling was designed well! Being selfish I’d like an all singing all dancing 802, even though mine failed on me today! The Hornby one is okay but it’s definitely a toy rather than a model…
  14. Sunday for me, I’m just about to start my Night Shift.
  15. I mean the 57/3’s aren’t accurate really as 57312 in NR yellow had a Delner (or another style) coupler but on the model it’s not there, seems a bit daft to me…
  16. I have done this, I’m logged in and click to watch the video and it’s loops me into a login page 🤷‍♂️
  17. Is it me that still hopes for more liveries from this tooling. Or even more numbers? Obviously, there’s modern(ish) stuff that hasn’t been done yet, I would think there are a whole load of second release of virgin, BR Blue or IC identities? Id like to see 87012 in NSE, 87002 in the blue it carried before the sleeper livery. Does anyone think a GBRF or DRS livery would sell? Then there’s 87002 as it is now as well which would sell.
  18. I’m sure this will get rid of those final XC Sliding Door Mk.3’s! I’ve ordered myself a pair of DCC ready ones, then I can fit V5’s to them. Thought I best do as I was on the train all day! I’m surprised there’s not a second pack with the other painted pair for the farewell train.
  19. Rather annoying, I signed up put my details in and now I can’t see the video! really annoys me this why not just stick it straight on the AS page! I don’t want to have to deal with stupid 2nd hand people to look at what I’ve ordered!
  20. I would think a DMU would be expected first, then maybe an EMU
  21. The trouble on most lines is they need to build more lines! 2 should become 4 and 4 become 6 etc… it’s much better than the slight gains we will get from ETCS, only so many trains you can funnel through so many lines! That and unfortunately we don’t have any 125+mph capable locos, probably because we don’t make Co-Co locos anymore. Grand Union will use Units temporarily diesel but then Electric/Bi-mode. Anyway back to these Revolutionary Class 93 models, I’ve heard they run on electric, battery and what’s that other one again…
  22. I don’t mind a new kettle, just give me one that’s still on the mainline today! A new K4, 8F or a Jubilee…
  23. Ahhh that clears that up then! Samples of run 1. Assuming there’s some sort of announcement for Ally Pally though?
  24. Interesting to see that all 9 remaining class 93’s are built and sat in Valencia. Delays to 001’s acceptance must be the reason for them staying there, no doubt something at Network Rail is holding them up from being allowed to start mainline testing!
  25. I’d think that an FL 66/6 early batch might be a possibility, Hattons only did one. Maybe a 66/4 in DRS base livery with FL branding? Another DRS compass 66 or maybe a Malcolm or Stobart special. I’d like to see some more GBRf oddities (709/711/718/720/721…)
