  1. sorry, i'm not the type who remembers every little detail from a video that seemed to go one for an eternity (not that it was a bad one). Not everyone has the time to watch the entire video, but it literally takes less than a min to hover over the timeline of the video and seek out the part where the 4-vep was discussed.
  2. agreed, I have sent Simon Kohler more than 1 email about that in the last couple of months. I also don't understand why the Cl66 got a 21pin dcc upgrade? does a model like that really need it? it doesn't even have lights
  3. the tooling upgrades were discussed in the live stream
  4. at last Hornby realised that diesel locos can also be put in a big box with some wagons and tracks. Hope they continue to do more such sets. The choice of wagons is baffling though
  5. the Hornby railraod plus range is a range of railroad spec locos that have all the painted and printed details of their main spec range. Etched namelates are added where applicable. The cl31 you are referring to is the old lima cl31 with nem couplers, 5-pole motors and 8-pin dcc. tier 1 refers to tier 1 retailers and mnodels that are tier 1 exclusive are only available to tier 1 retailers
  6. the specifications of the upgrade were discussed in today's live stream by Hornby
  7. This is just the Hornby mag review of the Hornby 2022 announcement. Hornby mag and Hornby hobbies plc have no connection at all
  8. After a glance at the Heljan 47 and 56 (and going through various threads regarding their 37s, mk1 coaches etc). im glad i am not paying top dollar for models that are so obviously inaccurate from a design stand-point. Hats off to accurascale, minerva and Dapol for giving the 7mm market proper models at a realistic price. Heljan is the Hornby of the 7mm world.
  9. that was a railroad class 59
  10. Hornby lose either way. If their announcement comes after rapido, they'll be blamed for duplicating. Hornby is often blamed for duplicating the terrier to scare off rails. But the Hornby terrier was originally an oxford diecast project anyway (as I read in one of the mags)
  11. That's my order cancelled .It has been a disappointing year, both Hornby and Dapol have made a right old mess of their respective hst sets over the last year. I just want a nice hst set.
  12. My bet is on a new oo scale hst and mk3 coaches. The "cat is among the pigeons" statement is probably in response to the "cat is out of the bag" announcement that Hornby made when they announced their intentions to produce Lion
  13. That is actually the issue that i am having. Some of my pre-orders are not showing in my order page. And i haven't cancelled any. Furthermore the orders that i requested to be cancelled, still show up.
  14. Thanks, I've already sent more than 2 emails regarding the same issue over the last couple of months. Maybe I'll give it one more shot.
  15. Has anyone had any luck contacting cmc via their own website? I have tried using their contact form and their email both. I had a 5 pre-orders placed with cmc. The products have since come in stock and some also sold out. But absolutely no news from cmc about my pre-orders Or how to cancel them. I'm not quite happy about their service and i have missed out on a few models now as they have sold out all over
  16. Definitely a Hornby (old lima) class 59 looks like the Hornby r3786 class 66 - https://www.hattons.co.uk/stocklistdatabase/430606/hornby_r3786_class_66_4_66413_in_freightliner_g_w_orange_and_black/stockdetail Looks like the apt to me
  17. its a pixel spreader minecraft themed sets go well with their card kits and the newest junior range. The most useful place for a trackmat.
  18. they can always upgrade to 21 pin dcc plugs or well defind ranges if they wish to create a headline.
  19. Thanks for the reply, havent had the time to respond. I saw a similar post from you in the Dapol thread and shared my views there
  20. it looks exactly like the current Hornby (old lima) class 59. All the grills are moulded on the body and the roof, the plastic buffers, the split snow plough, moulded headlights and lack of fine or separate details backs it up. Claerly not a new model or new design. ep samples are quite a common feature even for old models. Old models often get minor updates like nem couplers, ancient 8-pin dcc functionality, lighting or more commonly new tooling slides to replace an older tool. a factory has to test a new tool. We have seen them do exactly what I described above with the hst.
  21. I remember seeing a video on YouTube of a Hornby class 60 and class 56 pulling 20 - 24 coaches each. This was many years ago. Can't find the video now. But I remember the class 60 being the territorial army one and the class 56 being an ews one
  22. If what i read is anything to go by, then yes, all newly tooled steam locos will have that. It became a standard feature since their last big LMS loco retool. Princess Coronation class? I have no idea when the std 2mt was announced. So I'm not sure about that. But hopefully the delay means an added feature.
