  1. I changed the tension lock to kadee no 19s and it'll pull 12 JGAs or 24 Hornby HAAs no problem now. No derailing has happened since I changed over.
  2. I messaged him too and got a reply, within 10 mins. Could not find my confirmation email anywhere.
  3. This would be great, I am having problems with pulling wagons round curves with mine. Weighting the 1st wagon makes everything run perfectly. Waiting on Kadees arriving which will hopefully solve the issue. Might try some ptfe dry lubricant too to see if it helps.
  4. My Lima one outlasted my Hornby ones, excited to see that we'll soon be spoiled for choice.
  5. Mine is set the same, nothing happening.
  6. On topic, I was wondering if anyone who has the analogue version, straight DC, can advise if the fans work on DC ?
  7. I remember going in November 1990 as a British Rail YTS we were forbidden to touch alcohol all week and the couple of guys that did indulge got caught and I seem to remember they were suspended from work. It seemed a bit heavy handed at the time and looking back seems very strange. Need to look out the paperwork in the loft to see if it was the same place, definitely in the North East.
  8. Thanks PMP, I'll wait till a day I've got a load of patience in reserve by the sounds of it.
  9. Any one got advice in removing the floor of the cab on the Bachmann class 03 diesel shunter, the window has fallen inside and can't work out how to get it back in place. I see advice on this forum previously for the class 08 but the photos showing how to remove the cab have been lost. Thanks in advance.
  10. Looking forward to mine arriving next week, its put me in the mood for a retooled 58 to complement them....
  11. Definitely in for any Transrail 37/4, or 37/0's but oddly enough I would go for one of the Mainline freight 37/7 s on grey maybe 37705 or 37709.
  12. Thanks, Looking forward to seeing it !
  13. Yes I think you are right, 2007 doesn't seem that long ago though, must be getting old. I've kept my Lima 31105 Bescot TMD in my display case for years, it looks as though as it might be getting an upgrade.
  14. Yip I think you are right. Maybe becoming a spares donor.
  15. Taken it apart now. Chassis does look okay, I'm wondering if something could be made with some thick plasticard as I've given one that's nearly intact to trace round. , maybe something to do over Christmas.
  16. My R2421 class 31 developed a small crack in the front cab a year past in September. I emailed Hornby but they couldn't help so I left it on a shelf till today and had another look at it. It seems to be the small pads that hold the lighting contacts that seem to be disintegrating, I'm not sure the chassis block is affected. I wonder if those can be bought as spares ? Seems a waste of, at the time, £89. I bought it in 2007.
  17. I've cleared all cookies, history on chrome and Samsung Internet browser and reinstalled Firefox to no avail. I have taken to browsing the forum not signed in and I can see much more, but obviously you can't see the wheeltappers section unless you are signed in and when you tap on the heading it just says this community is temporarily unavailable try again, been like that since, at a guess, late July.
  18. Has anyone else had the problem of having to use different browsers to see certain pages. I've not been able to see, when logged in, uk prototype discussions or wheeltappers on samsung Internet browser or Chrome for months but can see them on Firefox when I'm not logged in no problem. Usual logged out and cleared cookies have been done.
  19. Just getting back into my loft layout in time for the Autumn after a few months off, and find that my 31110 in Dutch livery has joined this club. Cracking appearing on the cab end, but nothing obvious on the chassis apart from being awkward to separate from the body. Ill see if I can get some pics in the daylight.
  20. Another Saturday run on the Mountain Bike and came across the old Bothwell to Craighead viaduct. Last train 1955 according to the signage. It had a pedestrian walkway underneath the railbed which you can see bricked up on the abutments. Must have been some noise walking through as a coal train passed overhead. The Blantyre piers were demolished by Network Rail a few years ago and the middle pier in the Clyde collapsed a few years later. The Bothwell ones don't look that great either.bh
  21. Sounds great. Looking forward to seeing these in the flesh. Would definitely be in for some Transrail and/or Dutch Transrail.
  22. Out cycling today, and found this old overbridge in the fields just south of the Calderwood Glen Platform halt on the East Kilbride to Blantyre line. Last train it seen was 1935.
  23. I've been working in Coalburn this week and been trying to catch glimpses of the old trackbed on the way to and from, the sight of a Peak on those old embankments must have been something to behold !
  24. Good call, a new board is always my preference or at least new breakers. Never pre used.
