  1. Could be copy and pasted from a related document for social media use?
  2. Has anyone put one of the sound versions into the Hornby Railroad Duke of Gloucester? Thinking of getting a few of these for my models but not sure if the old ones without tender circuit board housing would fit. I would have to put both the decoder and the speaker into the boiler.
  3. Probably to expand their reach to more railway modellers, who would most likely watch at least one of their videos.
  4. Perhaps a 4 coach pack would work as well, with each pack being able to work as a shorter version of a train. Something like 2 TSOs, 1 FO, and a BSO or BFO. Get 2 packs and put a Mk1 buffet car and you get a whole rake. Alternatively FO-TSO-TSO-BSO and RFO-TSO-TSO-BSO. Would also reduce packaging I think!
  5. Because they are still eastern region, ECML sets. In an A1/A3 - A4 - Deltic - HST - 225 lineup, we have 3 down, 2 to go.
  6. Since the TT range is very Eastern Region focused, why not the Intercity 225? Would be nice if we got the entire ECML express lineup.
  7. Same here, got the 8 coaches minus DVT from Rails for under £18 a coach, albeit there were some shipping costs. Hope I can get a matching DVT and maybe a Class 91 with these. I'm not sure why the discount though; Is the Intercity 225 on the more niche side of UK railway modeling? Anyway here are some thoughts on the model: The silver window outlines seem to not match the moulding, this wasn't the case for Mk3s. Its pretty unnoticable though. I appreciate the alternate couplings that were given. The continental European loop coupling gives closer coupling than the tension locks, and the bar coupling shrinks that gap further, to less than 2mm. I am not sure how flimsy the bar couplings are, and I don't want to risk breaking them, (had that experience with the 2-BILs, though a different bar coupling) so I will be ordering Hunt couplings. The NEM prong on the couplings seems to have variable size tolerances across the coaches. One of the pre-fitted tension locks were too tight and the rounded ends are too big for it to pull it out, and it stops mid way when I try. It's a mystery how that got fit in the first place. Not sure how to resolve that at the moment. But overall, for the price I paid I think it was worth it.
  8. I wonder if DCC sound for generator cars could be an option, kind of like the HST DVT stand-ins.
  9. I think this is the merit of model railways--scrapped equipment can be remembered and have its new life in model form.
  10. Do the TXS decoders work with other DCC controllers? Or are the sounds proprietary?
  11. Has anyone got the Railroad Plus Class 47 in the previous range? Is it worth it? A sound fitted 47 for 110 seems not too bad.
  12. Speaking of Pacers with Sprinters, I wonder if 142 + 150 formations were also done during the sectorization period, like the one here: (From timestamp 2:05)
  13. Looking at the image, maybe I do need a class 66 after all... In any case, good on Accurascale for being an industry first yet again.
  14. My bad on the proofreading part! Was supposed to say something on the lines of "how often did the DMUs worked in doubles (two DMUs coupled up together) ran during the sectorization period, especially for regional railways"
