  1. Terrible news. So very sad. Such a shame that we won’t be able to read his updates and listen to his wise words again. Deepest condolences to his family.
  2. I can’t add anything except my best wishes. I don’t follow RMWeb every day and it was a shock to see this news for the first time today.
  3. Thanks so far. I too thought that Sketch Up could do it but I had a look this afternoon and it wasn’t obvious. I’ll look at Gimp. Thanks again.
  4. I apologise if this is a FAQ, I can't find it if it is. I am trying to scratch build and I have a decent photo of what I'm building. I'm sure that somewhere I've read of a programme which can scale a photo such that dimensions can be derived from it - or did I dream it.....? Any pointers would be very useful please, thanks in advance. Simon
  5. I’ve come late to this thread, prompted by the piece(s) in MRJ recently. I just wanted to add my compliments to all of the others - beautiful work, a credit to all involved. Thanks for sharing it with us.
  6. Thanks, it’s not a good website, silly me thinking it was under the “Battery Loco” tab.... As a model, what’s it like?
  7. I’m building a layout with a ‘bit’ of LT on it and a battery loco (or two) would be a bonus. When I started researching the layout Radley Models had a kit but it now appears that they don’t.....notwithstanding the obvious retrospective advice (should have bought one at the time) does anyone know of any kits around, or better still decent drawing of the locos? I’ve done the usual Google (and this forum) searches without any success. Thanis in advance.
  8. Excellent news, does anyone know how thick the sleepers will be? I have a fair amount of C & L track already, at 0.8 thick.....
  9. I've wanted to see this layout for years, very much looking forward to seeing it at Warley.
  10. Gordon, I wouldn't know you if I stood next to you and I don't like golf - or pet fish! However, I feel that through this forum I have got to know you and have enjoyed ET in its various forms. I'm glad that you have found what you needed to find to enable you to start work once more and look forward to seeing progress as and when. Best wishes.
  11. All good stuff and absolutely fascinating watching the process from idea to build. Just a minor point, and please excuse me if anyone has raised this before; should the shed have a dead end road off it? Apart from anything else any shunt move within the shed has the potential to run into the station if things go wrong, certainly in modern arrangements it would be unusual for there not to be a neck with points set into the neck as a default and only changed to allow locos off shed. Delete / ignore as appropriate.
  12. Gordon, been watching for ages, inspirational stuff. Can you tell me please, that Quad Art set, is it the Ian Kirk (?) kit?
