Hi, I have just bought an oxford diecast fire engine online that has been fitted with flashing lights. I saw the photos of it with the lights flashing, however when I tested it on arrival, the lights just stay on and don't flash. Any ideas why this is? I have attached a photo to show how it has been wired. Any help would be much appreciated! Ian

Hi, Does anyone know if I could use a Hornby class 66 motor or swap the full power bogie into an old Lima 59? Thinking of upgrading/updating an old motor and wondered if this would fit/be compatible. Thanks, Ian

Hi, Looking for some advice/opinions please. I am laying down 3mm cork underlay on the main lines and wondered what to do with a line branching off this track into a depot area. I'm thinking a 3mm ballast shoulder/depth in this area won't look right, should I gradually reduce the underlay depth to nothing or reduce it down to 1mm underlay? (The tracks will go to a peco depot and Hornby hst/fordhampton diesel depot and a fuelling point if that affects anything) I am laying underlay for the first time so any help is appreciated! Wow, that looked an impressive model! I like the look of the Kingsway models but a bit concerned the windows and doors let them down a bit, but from that photo they look pretty good. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for this link. I had wondered about buying several of these kits and joining together to make the station bigger. Have you used any of the card kits from this site? I read reviews saying the card is separate from the image paper and hard/time consuming to construct? Thanks for highlighting this kit, it does look realistic.

Hi, I'd like to see photos of any fire stations from your layouts! I'm looking for a kit or inspiration for a town fire station. There seems to be a lot of small country fire station kits available but I'm looking for something big enough to hold 3 or 4 fire engines. To give you an idea what I'm looking for, the most suitable I have found so far is attached by Kingsway and it would be perfect but I'm just concerned the windows and doors don't look totally realistic (i guess I could adapt/modify this area if there's nothing else out there as suitable) and has no tower. Any suggestions or info about your fire stations will be appreciated! Ian

Sorry for such a basic question! But I was hoping for some advice of what people feel are the best station platform kits/RTR .I am just getting back into the hobby and currently have old Hornby platforms that need lots of improvement or replacing. Some of my platforms will need to be different widths so adjustable size platforms would be a bonus! I realise many of you will scratchbuild this type of thing but due to lack of time and not having a lot of modelling skills (yet!) I was hoping a RTR product/kit would look realistic enough (it's hard to tell from photos online how realistic they are especially card kits) Any help/info would be appreciated! Ian

Hi, I have recently seen some pics of class 442s labelled as working to and from Waterloo. Does anyone know if they operate regular services? I live in Fleet and want to catch sight of them but have no idea what services/times they might be. Any info would be appreciated!
