  2. They may be frustrated, but there are things that are working against them that may be frustrating their potential customers. The huge increase in prices would be paramount. They are what they are, but there is only so much money to go around and regardless of the huge advances in detail and performance if people don't have the money then market share ain't going to increase. I only buy bargains and pre-owned these days. Variety and new models as already mentioned would also be a factor - on the odd occasion I do have some spare cash I'm biting the bullet and 'donating' it to Revolution and DJM.
  3. That was 10 years ago. Can find nothing to suggest they have been used since 2013 as per this report http://centralstatessteam.org/history/
  4. If Hattons missed a simple email, there'd by a 10-page thread about it
  5. Oh dear. I was hoping not to have to buy anymore 47s, but that RDS version is a ripper.
  6. But unfortunately that is not what is happening on here. We have a bunch of internet keyboard warriors trying to big note themselves, intent on making sweeping generalisations that ultimately do not to stand up under scrutiny. A tragic waste of bandwith.
  7. ALCo powered Montreal Locomotive Works built M636s still at work in the US. Former Cartier Mining unit now with Western New York & Pennsylvania at Driftwood, PA on 10 October 2017 Ex Canadian Pacific 4743 now with Delaware Lackawanna at Scranton, PA on 22 October 2017
  8. Going nowhere is Steamtown Scranton's 'stuffed and mounted' 4-8-8-4 'Big Boy' sitting outside the railway museum on the morning of the 22 October 2017. Still impressive despite it's poor external condition, the presence of asbestos means that no work can be undertaken on it (even painting) until decontaminated.
  9. Heading east along I84 to Boston for my flight home after three weeks in the US I made a brief detour into Port Jervis, NY to see if there were any Metro North services stabled there - drew a blank, but was unexpectedly rewarded with ex-Erie E8 #833 stored there on 24 October 2017. Has not been operational for 2-3 years and the prospects of it being reactivated are slim. Last shot of the trip and haven't had the camera out since.
  10. Cab detail of ex Canadian National 4-6-4T at Steamtown, Scranton, PA on 23 October 2017
  11. A Steamtown excursion heading from Scranton to Delaware Water Gap on 15 October 2017, behind preserved F3 #663 and RS3 #1554, seen at Gouldsboro, PA. Ex Central of New Jersey #1554 also sees regular shortline freight work with the Delaware Lackawanna out of Scranton.
  12. Excellent - some rare stuff there.
  13. When it's 'the same whiners and whingers complaining from behind their computer screens saying the same thing time and time again, just because they have nothing better to do, then how about we all agree it adds absolutely nothing to the discussion
  14. As mentioned above https://www.flickr.com/photos/david_christie/23898334388/in/dateposted/
  15. Stick to your guns guys. I wonder how many more times you will have to explain your business model before the penny final drops?
  16. A couple to farewell the Thameslink 319s Honor Oak Park - 4 April 2012 Sutton - 6 March 2013
