I always use lais in my US locos plastic and brass ,shays ,rod and diesel and never had any problems at all .I use the cheap Bachmann eZkrap controller or a MRC Tech6 as I am a cheapskate .One Lais decoder doesnt like coreless micromotors is it the next18?

It seems to me that Horner got bigger than Red Bull in the media .It became his team and no one else got a word in ...its pretty poor treatment of him even if the accusations are true .Mud sticks and always will now .Who ever worked this one out has really screwed him .The old press saying 'when the messenger gets bigger than the story its time to go " rings out in this case .His big helpers in F1 climb were Briatore and Ecclestone ,Both damaged beyond repair .

I could also bung in a couple of well known designers whos one great success was probably a certain A N design and the other I wouldnt let design my grandaughters pedal car though race car design is black art and success is often luck unless repeated .. Motorsports is full of people who are incompetent .One well known engineer was nicknamed "**** Barely Capable ".I know of some one who wrote up various contracts incorrectly and has cost the company 6 million .Probably walkies will follow but the not the reason, so will probably get another management job .if others do the deals ,design the car,hire the people and run the car ,anyone can sit on the pit wall talking to the press and sound very impressive and that appears to have been his job .Interesting it was Dutch media outlet .They all love Max and Redbull ............but someone doesnt .

My daughter via others and her own experience has info on this but its not repeatable, printable or complimentary.Suffice to say his main job under the old management was so Matische could deflect press questions according to well informed paddock gossip at the time ..The important decisions were never his .Now Horner seems as important than the team in many eyes so time to go .It had to come .I am not surprised far less than many who wondered how he ever got the job in the first place .So palace coup ?

Years ago trains were part of the fabric with model trains being fascinating and only jets and a rockets to tempt us kids further . Now the fantasy is computer and science related and trains are just there to carry around poor sods who cant afford cars .Why should kids like model trains when the universe is before them and fantasy wars and goodness knows what else is on offer .Model Trains are a lost cause for largescale continuity as there is little to fire a kids imagination .just leave it and let the coming generation make their own ways of spending a fortune on toys.Bot my grandkids played on the floor with toy trains .thomas was popular but its lost now in a sea of VR ,Taikwondo ,basket ball,gameboy etc .

I got an analog Sneider IMT243113 from Amazon .it was fairly cheap and works fine .Better quality than the yellow cheapies

This is my experimental ,mental being the word , roundy .it takes little 0-4-0's like Pecketts ,B4's and Bavarian DVI.most short rolling stock and couplings ,i slightltly modified a Hornby SECR four wheele and its fine too .Radius is about 6 1/2 of our finest kings inches.its all ballasted and correct now .

I can just picture the layout some one could make.Its all there .

Its straightforward to mount a plate .I use a Post It "hinge' to make sure it goes in the right place ..First position the plate on the model then stick a low tack "hinge " over the model and plate so when the plate is lifted off and hinged back it will land in exactly the right place on return.Then apply glue .I use super glue but clear laquer will also do .I use the method on 1/43 model cars that have lots of tiny PE parts that have to stick on a perfect finish and possibly be polished as well .only one go or all is lost .hope it helps .

I came across this photo on facebook and it struck me that it would suit an industrial layout suitably compressed what with ships and the river in front ,a road and a siding running into the works t .The curved track at the end amight be a handy escape route to a yard at the back .As I will never make it i pass it on to perhaps someone more interested .Forgive me if its been done already .

The Silverstone test sessions were fabulous .The week before the GP you could get in and watch all the teams for three days .F1 tested at Silverstone all year with mainly British based teams .From about feb until november ,rain snow fog and sunshine .it all stopped in 2008 .I attended as many as I could from 89 until the end .I blagged press passes as I knew some team bosses as I made model racing car kits to a high standard (then) .in the end I actually became a journalist(sort of ) and photographer for a Japanese publisher.Great days.standing about 6 ft an F1 car going flat out is an experience never forgotten .I still pinch myself to make sure it wasnt just a dream .My daughter who often came along as my assistant assures me it wasnt ..One of my greatest memories is Mansell breaking the lap record .I was standing on the bridge and you could actually hear him sounding quicker than the others and Jaguars first run.It gurgled down the pit lane like an old motorboat ,did a lap and wasnt seen again all day and Senna running over my foot as he came into the wrong pit .sEveral driver took a fancy to my daughter but she was abit young at 16 .Her husband now races their sons which she says is creepy .....sorry to bore you .

Mainly Trains did a whole sheet of varios lamp irons that might do .

With global warming I fully expect The Gulf to come to us not the other the way round .I am helping by using petrol cars in and no home insulation .Trouble is I am getting on a bit so ...........

Re the lucky teddy .it was given to her by Lando so seems to work .Lando ,Louis Sharp ..etc .Maybe she should sell it Lance Knoll.Even weirder the kids gave my Son in law a lucky few trinkets he keeps in his pocket including my Dart Castings horse I gave them as they like my little animals .Can the mojo ever end ...

My lot are at Brands for the F4 .My son in law runs the Carlin F4 team so its all down to the wire .........nail biting but will my little Granddaughters lucky Mclaren teddy bear sort it out .....
