  1. A little progress on concrete hard starting in front of the maintenance depot and the embankment. Very pleased with the Cavalex class 56 they are superb models with excellent performance and detail, here’s my three sat outside the depot they will be used on heavy steel workings and coal for the works.
  2. Very happy with my three grids… excellent performers handling my 16 MGRs with ease. I really like the new style of packaging also…can’t wait for the 60s. Jez
  3. A little progress on the layout around the flood loader area a little more static grass and weathering. Here’s a Metals 37 easing some PTAs through the loader. I’m very pleased with the performance of the pair of Accurascle class 37s i run on the layout , I’ve also have the latest Bachamann 37 which has performed just as well also. Jez
  4. . Here’s 051 easing some PTAs through the Ore loader … excellent running qualities, the sound especially when on heavy train mode is just right….. handles 15 PTAs no problem. Jez

  6. Hi all A little progress on one of the TMD buildings, requires the roof and the glazing to be added and more detailing it’s quite a good kit and is simple to construct this will be the heavy maintenance building, I’ve just placed in the area of the baseboards where it probably will end up just to see how it will look with some locomotives to get a feel on the size and if it looks the part. It’s got the Eastern region look about it which’s what I’m looking for, will add some raised platforms and a overhead crane that the larger depots had…ie…Tinsley..Stratford..Immingham.. Jez.
  7. Hi all Not much progress on the layout, have been adding some rolling stock. Accurascale MGRs are a great model they run so smoothly and are great value for money, here’s a rake of 16 sat in the yard that have dropped of by a coal sector class 37 which is heading back to the depot. Starting on a new project that will sit above the present layout. ,it will be a TMD with a raised main line running to the rear which will complete a full oval of the shed. I want some where to stable my increasing number of locomotives I have, along with the pre order’s.…Accurascale 37s and 31s ..Heljan 47s and cavalex 56s and 60s. Have purchased the Key Publishing’s Depot kit of the building based on the design of Stratford and the Railway Laser Lines latest depot design kit. Jez
  8. Hi all A little more progress on the layout, the reception sidings filling up with wagons loaded with products from the works sitting along side the Ore loader which dispatches materials to other works. Next on the list will be a wagon weathering project I’ve got 16 Accurascale MGRs along with 15 PTA iron ore Tipplers to get on with along side the BDAs BBAs BLAs TEAs IWBs…ect. Jez
  9. Hi all.. Not much progress at the moment. Here’s the latest addition to the fleet 47 363 Billingham Enterprise my favourite 47 from back in the 80s/90s…. So when Kernow announced it as limited edition I had to get one. It’s my first Bachmann 47 It looks fantastic and runs very smooth and fits nicely in my era and industrial theme. Jez
  10. Hi… a look at the loader from a different perspective with a Metals 37 in the reception sidings on a rake of BDAs loaded with steel blooms. Jez
  11. Hi .. Added some strengthening girders under the end of loading bunker and a support structure under the conveyor with a dusting of weathering. Jez
  12. Hi …The loader’s construction is maid by using a wooden frame, then covered with thick card which gives strength to the structure and then ribbed card is used on the outside which I got from a local office supply store. I then use plastic strips on the edges and then use spray cans for the basic colour, then use the airbrush to finish off and weather the hole structure. Jez.
  13. Hi A pair of Metals 37s easing some PTAs through the loader as some empty MGRs pass by powered by a 37. Jez
  14. Hi. A little progress on the bunker, have added the long conveyor that links the feeder structures to the flood loader. Will add supports to the conveyor it’s quite a span upto the loader. Jez
  15. Hi… Here’s my rake of Hoppers passing the reception siding’s. Very impressed with the amount of detail and they run so smoothly through sets of points and around curves, would recommend them highly and great value for money also. Jez.
  16. Very happy with my weathered TEAs they look the business and run very smooth, also well packaged no problems. jez.
  17. Hi all. A couple of photos of the excellent Cavalex TEAs behind a petroleum class 47 arriving in the yard. Decided to go for 6 of the weathered versions, very pleased with the finished article’s and the flaking paint has been done very well. Jez
  18. Great work James . I have a Hornby class 60 in sector livery with a big Beastie branding. I want to remove it and add Metals sector’s decals without having to repaint , would be grateful for any advice.. cheers Jez
  19. Hi all. A bit more weathering on and around the yard area along with the running line that runs to the rear of the layout, it’s been trial and area especially the areas between the track which tends to be less oil stained. The third line from the rear is the Ore loading line that passes through the loader so has had Ore stains (light rust) added. Jez
  20. Hi .. A little progress on the depot area will add some floodlights in the future… Jez
  21. Here’s another view of how I’ve tried to make a scenic break and tried to blend the layout with the background matching it with the back scene. Next is to continue with a conveyor that will connect up to the flood loader. Jez
  22. Hi all A little more progress, quite pleased with the look of the buildings. Another conveyor which passes over the access road for HGVs that will link up with the flood loader. Jez
  23. Hi all A little more ballast added and some experimentation with the airbrush along with some static grass. Both new methods of weathering to me a bit of trial and error. Positioned the loading buildings and conveyors which will give the allusion of linking up to the back scene structures, hopefully the will help cover up the running lines that head of the scenic area. Jez
  24. Hi all ... a little more ballasting around the yard area, will go over with a airbrush to touch up areas with ore dust especially on the running line the 37 is on pulling the PTAs through the loader. Wil finish the main running line to the rear of the layout with standard ballast and weather with the airbrush. Jez
