I still say speeding fines are voluntary, I've been stopped once in 1993(?) at 3.30am in Takeley, I had been working nights and hadn't seen the 30 sign as not paying enough attention, it was partly obscured by a tree which the following day was trimmed by the local authority and like others caught that night I could have argued but I didn't and paid the fine (£270) and took the points (6). I still drive fast but mainly on dual carriageways/motorways but keep to the limits in other areas. I know of quite a few who are always on 6-9 points from being caught and moan all the time about speed limits and how they are wrong but all they have to do is slow down a bit.
Still a morally superior viewpoint for you.
