  2. Coachmans "Oswestry" in OO now in O gauge utilises an outside shelf. Edit....or it did the last time I looked, but as he changes it every 5 minutes that could have changed.
  3. Seen them a couple of times in Halifax This was in 2009, pict taken from Deck 14 of a cruise ship.
  4. Just how would you model the 'Aroma' from that part of Bedford nowadays. And Allens Engineering, just who didn't have an apprenticeship there, Father did in 1936, still have his indenture papers.
  5. Oh God I hope Gordon's not waiting for the new Peco Bullhead..... It won't end well.....
  6. That's nothing, There's quite a few here including me would find that positively rocketing along
  7. And lakes.....don't forget the lakes. Very interested, I've only been to Finland once so far (WRC Rally Finland) and loved it. Stayed near Jyväskylä and saw some of the railways used for transporting all those trees, also popped into the station with its impressive timber roof.
  8. Starlings are actually migratory so some will move on elsewhere to be replaced by others. Our birdfeeders aren't seeing much action yet, but as it gets colder the smaller birds will move back into town from the fields as it's slightly warmer for them overnight, and so they will start to feed in gardens more. It has been unseasonably mild so far this year.
  9. I guess if you hit them far enough you can't hear them........
  10. I think I've got one if you haven't, will pop in the post if you need it.

  12. Out digging the veg plots yesterday and looked up to see a Sparrowhawk chasing Starlings and Blackbirds, after a few seconds some of them turned followed by the rest and they all dived towards the SH seeing it off. Was quite amusing to watch. Of course all the time I'm digging I had a Robin as my own personal Bodyguard.
  13. Would that be Alan Gibson? http://www.alangibsonworkshop.com/ The Milled mainframes are page 13 onwards in the catalogue
  14. Whats new since the one picture was released?
  15. As Membership Secretary for the GNRS I'll reply with a little more info. Many thanks for the recommendation, much appreciated. Tony - It was Malcolms express wishes that the publication did not include photographs and the society respected that even though the book was published shortly after his death. There are drawings within by member Paul Craig for many of the tender types and it is planned to publish more information with photographs as it is assembled. Steve White our publications officer is working on this at present. The book itself has just been reprinted by the society with an updated forward as well as colour cover. It is offered in 2 forms, either a spiral binding (to be able to lay flat) or perfect bound. Certainly does, but more information is coming to light, just takes time. There was also the thought that if there is some information published then more could be added and it might reveal further research by individuals. If anyone is interested in the Great Northern Railway society or our publications, there is a link to the societies website in my signature (at the bottom) and after that unashamed plug for the GNRS courtesy of Tony's thread............it's back to modelling.
  16. That looks like the M45 below you. And the station would be Charwelton.
  17. Do we know that for sure? This is new R&D and tooling and we've no idea how Peco will have priced this. could be it's a "premium" product
  18. IIRC one issue was they were selling direct for less than the retailers could buy, so there wasn't essentially any "retail" profit
  19. The example was the whole amount of profit derived, not that they split it between them.
  20. There used to be a very good model on the exhibition circuit of Helston in TT IIRC. It's a nice prototype to model even allowing for it being GWR....
  21. It really isn't as simple as that, they are purchasing product in China with a long lead time between R&D and production then transit to the UK, it is in US dollars so there is currency fluctuation. then the Chinese increase their labout rates by 20% which is more than anyone would reasonably expect. I have trouble pricing jobs in this country without those problems, so certainly can understand where some of this has come from.
