  1. Believe that so far only 201 has ventured outside the confines of the depot, and that only out of hours. They have yet to even run on trial alongside the original cars, so still a long way off carrying paying passengers...
  2. And we're certainly proud of Miss P, Jamie, and also proud of Heritage Painting's slightly less high profile work on two of the tram fleet (with another possibly to be done this year!)
  3. My understanding is that this and other weekend blockades in Jan/Feb are for work on existing infrastructure to allow the tram-trains to operate throughout the network; the intention being that they will run on existing services ahead of the Rotherham line opening. I can't remember the full list of locations, but the Park Square bridge was the big one on the list with two full weekends allocated. Unconfirmed rumour is that there a few 'swept path' issues with line-side items that aren't quite where they should be...
  4. As are the M5000s to Manchester and the Flexities were to Blackpool. Delivery in one piece is a lower risk option. Fully assemble and wire in the factory and in some cases, test running and mileage accumulation before delivery in close proximity to the factory allowing rapid entry to service - Metrolink are currently averaging around 12 days from touchdown to carrying passengers...
  5. Nope... Struggling to see the two locos of the same class in that one...
  6. Just celebrate that two are fit for service at the same time!
  7. Not seeing two locos of the same type in either of those last two posts...
  8. Nice photo, Except she's not black and she's a Jubilee (5XP)...
  9. Probably because it is a Duplicate of a topic in the media section...
  10. Something unusual/unique/quirky? No... Something that, in typical Oxford fashon, can be churned out in multiple liveries and sell by the train load to collectors? Yes... Something where the the existing models leave room for improvement and if done right will also sell in quantity to the more descerning modeller? Absolutely... The wagon makes a lot of sense as a basic item to establish the brand in the market, and to stay in production as a 'bread and butter' product that will continually sell...
  11. That's what they said last year...
  12. I'm not seeing two locos/units of the same class...

    Ask Dave

Farish BR Blue or Dapol BR Blue??
  14. When it comes to commissioning models, Oxford are on the Commissionee side of the relationship like Bachmann and Dapol, not the Commissioner like Kernow, Hattons et al. So far DJM appears to be acting more as in intermediary, sitting between the two...
  15. I'm a Yorkshireman... Lancastrians are the people we tradiionally have wars with!
  16. Nice photos, but I'd suggest the last 4 would be better in the creative photography thread...

    Ask Dave

Every time it has been tried in the past, they have proved to be very slow sellers, and the few that did buy 'expected' a price reduction out of proportion to the actual cost differential of production.
  18. Unless the road way and the raiway are exactly the same width, there has to be either a gap or and overlap one way or the other, usually I believe when open to the road...
  19. It is Statfold Barn Railway's Isibutu plus the brake tender wagon, but where are they heading? Obvious destinations (of the right gauge!) from there are South Tynedale but no info on them expecting visitors, or Beamish but their webpage lists only Isabel from Amerton and Peter Pan as visiting for this month's Great North Steam Fair...
  20. And still has trams running past it... The target is to photograph 120 the heritage liveried Supertram passing it but it never seems to be on the blue route whenever I'm in Sheffield.
  21. Thanks Alan, Puts a slightly different spin on it... Info I had came from a Santoft crew member. He said BCM were down to just two qualified TB drivers... Paul
  22. Given the way the Black Country Museum is going at the moment* I suspect that represents the chain that will soon be permanently attached to the gates. All that misssing is a large padlock... *plumeting attendance, tramway closed because of chronic maintenance backog, trolley buses stopped through mass exodus of volunteers to EATM due to being fed up of management inaction...
  23. As you will require at least two cars or more (they frequently ran in coulped pairs) but the overall market is very limited, then it sounds like an ideal task for either 3-d printing or alternatively scratch-build one and use it as a master for resin casting.
