  1. Unless the road way and the raiway are exactly the same width, there has to be either a gap or and overlap one way or the other, usually I believe when open to the road...
  2. I think you will find that in that area RCD vans were infact painted dark blue, and the detector should have a flat side...
  3. all I'm seeing is a 404 not found error for whatever the embedded object is...
  4. The best used car advert ever? http://gumtree.com/p/cars-vans-motorbikes/2000-honda-civic-14/1061515351
  5. How many different user names has Tim Vine got for this forum???
  6. Well you could have put it in any of the FIVE other threads it has previously been posted in!!
  7. It is Statfold Barn Railway's Isibutu plus the brake tender wagon, but where are they heading? Obvious destinations (of the right gauge!) from there are South Tynedale but no info on them expecting visitors, or Beamish but their webpage lists only Isabel from Amerton and Peter Pan as visiting for this month's Great North Steam Fair...
  8. You are a major supermarket, but because of poor sales of other titles, you have reduced your Model Railway magazine range to one... So where do you place it on the shelves? Well it's mostly bought by men and features some very atractive models, so you put it with other mags with those characteristics...
  9. I guess it means that path is not suitable for those who have recently smoked illicit substances...
  10. And still has trams running past it... The target is to photograph 120 the heritage liveried Supertram passing it but it never seems to be on the blue route whenever I'm in Sheffield.
  11. So your operation was a complete success!!!
  12. Thanks Alan, Puts a slightly different spin on it... Info I had came from a Santoft crew member. He said BCM were down to just two qualified TB drivers... Paul
  13. Given the way the Black Country Museum is going at the moment* I suspect that represents the chain that will soon be permanently attached to the gates. All that misssing is a large padlock... *plumeting attendance, tramway closed because of chronic maintenance backog, trolley buses stopped through mass exodus of volunteers to EATM due to being fed up of management inaction...
  14. As you will require at least two cars or more (they frequently ran in coulped pairs) but the overall market is very limited, then it sounds like an ideal task for either 3-d printing or alternatively scratch-build one and use it as a master for resin casting.

  16. In theory no, so long as the magnets are fairly centrally mounted.
  17. Believe it was the East Lancs Railway. Perfect location for a town apparently served by Thames Valley Police, Northern Diaries, and Yorkshire Traction buses...
  18. As I understand it, it is either owned or managed by former senior staff from the Signal Box...
  19. A moot point... depending on your definition of RTR... There have been various small suppliers who sold hand-built models, Ready to run by the end user (Paul Windle still does); but it is the first mass produced example by a mainsteam high volume manufacturer...
  20. Good to see you again Tom and to finally see the layout for the first time! Have to say the photos don't do it justice. As for TT itself, I think the model content this year was probably the best yet with Grime Street, Peter Whiteleys layout and Ravenscar Pier as well as TG, but the vehicle rally was probably the poorest with fewer entries and nothing particularly unusual or interesting (ok not helped by the weather), yet the still crammed what was there tightly together instead of spreading them out slightly for better viewing and photography... Paul
  21. Looking Good Mark, Still me favorite of the new generation UK trams... Hopefully get to compare up close to the real thing next weekend!
  22. Cue calls for these "dangerous level crossings" to be fitted with barriers because the car disobeyed a red STOP traffic light??
  23. Where's the DISlike button... (but I would say that abount any colour scheme except Maroon and Cream... )
  24. A case of ensuring it is the best home for the layout, not necessarily taking the highest offer...
