  1. I was going to put a joke about a chemical on here. But I didn't think I'd get a reaction.
  2. Chip shop opposite Crewe Alex. Exit the station, turn left down Nantwich road, followed by the next left down Gresty Road. Past the alex and at the first junction cross the road and there you go. Just don't go between 2 and 3 on a home match day...
  3. Speaking about Countryfile style programmes... what about Ellie Harrison who is on there? She ticks the boxes for me.
  4. For me it's Daniel Radcliffe... how he's got so rich for someone who isn't a great actor is beyond me. Actually, while we're on Harry Potter, maybe Emma Watson, because she's gorgeous - but her short hair cut looks a mess.
  5. England have just won the first test. Well done lads!
  6. You're right, I totally forgot about messrs Prior and Trott. Just adding to that list above... Graeme Hick - Zimbabwe (or Rhodesia at the time he was born) - now he was without doubt, my all time favourite. Just wish he'd cracked test cricket. With regards to the current game, it's well poised, and I agree with Dagrizz and LN Lancs, the TMS team is quite something. I'm not a Henry Blofeld fan but I do enjoy it when Tuffers (sorry, Doctor Tufnell) is on with him - although you can't beat the 'rubber' commentary between Vaughany and Aggers earlier this season! Regarding my own playing background, played althrough my teenage years and up to the age of 24. Then life - and a chronic nerve problem - got in the way. Had a couple of age group trials with Staffs and Cheshire aged 13/14 when I was actually a fairly decent opening bat. The perfect day now would consist of a trip to the County Ground at Derby in the sun... oooh, I'm going a week on Thursday! Why Derby? Well, as a youngster I played for the same club that produced Dominic Cork (and was chaired by his Dad), and he used to organise free tickets for the juniors to go and watch each season.
  7. Hi folks, just sat listening to TMS on the the web and the English boys (plus South Africans Pietersen and Strauss) are doing pretty well against India. So it got me browsing here to see if there were any cricket threads. Anyway, just thought I'd get one going as the only one I could find was the triumphant Ashes series this Winter just gone. So, thought I'd share a few things, see if anyone can add to these. Favourite players: Ian Bell, Graeme Swann, Danni Wyatt (England womens international) Best player I've played against: Shahid Nazir (former Pakistan test cricketer) Most promising youngsters I've seen: James Taylor (Leicestershire) and Danni Wyatt Anyway, feel free to comment on these or add anything to the thread - if it's cricket, we want it in this thread!
  8. Must admit I hate the prima donna side of football. Luckily I'm a season ticket holder at Crewe Alexandra and Dario Gradi - despite his other faults - won't tolerate prima donnas. Was, originally, hopeful of 'another decent season for us this year, but with lots of players let go and just one player signed (a reserve 'keeper) and a squad which is filled by first year pro's, I can't see it. That said, there's some cracking young lads coming through: Nick Powell, Max Clayton, Ben Garratt, Brendan Daniels and Caspar Hughes. 'Owl' (Hughes) might well be one to look out for this year... all you fans of bigger clubs, keep your eyes peeled! Back to the premier though, I can't see past United sadly, with Liverpool (as a closet Evertonian as well it really hurts me to say this) being their closest challengers. Been a proper boring transfer window though!
  9. No rush at all. Except I love seeing your updates. :-) Two other micros... I'm intrigued! Is it possible to be sent track plans of Whitworth SP and Marsh Street please - I've seen a few pics of that and absolutely love them. Although I do think FP is topping them all. Feeling seriously inspired by them. KUTGW Chris
  10. I have 47193 and the body shell has split slightly. It's a cracking looking model though. Will enjoy seeing them on Fuelling Point. How is the layout coming along?
  11. Really like it Neil. It's not too much, it just looks grubby. A great start.
  12. Stunning. Just stunning.
  13. That pic at Preston oozes atmosphere! Thanks for the baseboard dimensions.
  14. Also, can I just ask what dimensions your baseboard is? Cheers.
  15. One word... 'Stunning.' I'm absolutely in awe of your ability. This little layout is right up my street - plenty of inspiration for my next little plank.
  16. Lots of inspiration on here... Really wanting a Loadhaul 60 now as well! As previously said, its the attention to the little details that make it stand out.
  17. Good start... I loved Castleton and am looking forward to seeing Fuelling Point develop.
  18. Excellent work Neil - the backscene really adds something. As mentioned above, it really adds a sense of place to Deeping Lane. Keep up the good work!
  19. Cracking little layout there Neil... you've done Hugh's plan proud!
  20. Really like this. The mirror works very well. Looking at incorporating this idea onto my new layout.
  21. Love the little 'CCFC' on 37 800. Mind you, as a Crewe fan I reckon you need to change the second 'C' into an 'A!' Love this thread. Top work.
  22. Phil, Just been reading this thread from start to finish. Got to say it's looking really impressive, and the speed with which it's got to this stage is quite something. Looking forward to seeing further updates. Chris
  23. What terrible news. I didn't know Keith but had enjoyed this thread of his work hugely. Rest In Peace.
  24. Leon, No problem, I;m only too happy to make the comments -it really is quite a layout. Regarding my own plans, I am planning a layout yes. Calderburgh bit the dust last Summer and although I currently have a static diorame I am aiming to replace this with a working layout soon. It's just one foot wide by 80 cm long so it's hardly huge but it will be fine for a bit of shunting! Regarding the Vi 37s, I'm more a modern livery man myself but they are just cracking. I love the pics you have where there is a whole line up, then the sector logos just throw in a splash of colour. As always, watching with interest and great respect for what you've done.
  25. Thanks Keith. Will have to be feeling very brave to try that one out although it looks the bees knees! What did you cut it with? Chris
