  1. Hi Andy Very nice mate... Weather is excellent... Regards Jamie
  2. I'm sure there will be ones on here aka RMWeb that will be able and willing to a fair trade type policy between us all... to exchange with each other's unwanted Coaches,... When I say a fair trade... I mean trade a coach for a coach without paying again or extra inflated Prices... unless we are exchanging 2 for 3 then just pay half of the Hornby Twin Pack Price... makes perfect sense to me... even Free Postage Costs as both parties will be sending Coaches to Each Other, so both will pay Postage costs... its just a thought to take on board for all of us concerned... But I do think that there will be "shops" that will no doubt Pull Twin Pack Apart to sell separately and then possible at extra cost to the buyer, maybe... I do think there will be many eBayer's that will do the same as the shops, I just hope the if that happens that the shops undercut the eBayer's rather than milk it to... then it just prevents ones like us APT-P lovers on here from getting the APT-P for the same Hornby Price by doing a Fair Trade Swap via PM to each... Which is why between us all if we do have any spares coaches then Fair Trade is the best way, I would be willing to do that.. personally...! Regards Jamie
  3. Well the 1978 book arrived.... interesting MORE information in the 1978 Book compared to the 1979 Book, although there seems that the Running Number appear to be the same... The 1978 Class 370 The Information above the numbers says, Six vehicles are on order as appose to the 1979 Book, which says, some vehicles now running on trails... 48101-48107 DTS (included the Spare) 48201-48212 TS 48401-48406 TRSB 48501-48506 TF 48601-48607 TBF (included the Spare) 49001-49006 N-DM Interesting TS 482 Numbers had 12 Coaches are in the pipeline in both books... The 1978 Book is even on the same Page Number as the 1979 Book... 1978 BOOK SAYS.... 1979 BOOK SAYS.... 1978 BOOK Regards Jamie
  4. Am I correct in saying that the NEW Hornby APT-P in both 5-Car Sets and the 7-Car Sets are Train Packs ONLY and NOT A FULL TRAIN SET or will there be One of Each like the 1980's Original release with Oval Track, Controller and the [with Original Cardboard Tunnel],... The Older APT-P Sets... had the Yellow Fronted Set was a Train Set, where as the Black Fronted Set was a Train Pack Only... with No Oval Track, Controller or Cardboard Tunnel. I have Four of the Original Cardboard Tunnel, that have the Cut Out Scissor Lines and where to glue etc., to make the Tunnel ... all flat packed in the APT-P boxes. Regards Jamie
  5. Hi Anthony Few photos of the Penmaenmawr Signal Box (I have tried made the size bigger and hope that will help in Modelling terms, if I do upload any that appear smaller and would prefer it bigger just give me the nod and I'll alter the size of the Image for you. Hope you find these of interest. Regards Jamie

  7. That's it then, the nose is coming off... (or Up and adapted), for a Class 37/47 to tow my APT round the layout... lol Regards Jamie
  8. Tell me about Anthony, I take it that in Brisbane you are free to take photos, but here in the UK, the bigger the station then even more so, I would say to ask first as the risks are higher for like you say, terrorist etc..., and can't be to sure today, which like I said earlier I thank the plain cloths police for when they have asking me what I am doing taking photos, I'm glad they are doing there job and that there are always someone else watching you and not just Uniformed Police or Security/CCTV etc... The Smaller stations in Wales that I know of, well in the North of Wales, I can say there doesn't seem the risk and seems more OK to take your photos. I feel it just covers you more than anything.... and building up a relationship with staff over time and Transport Police to, and security, you are less of a security risk if they are aware of your situation and why you are there in the first place, that way if a security situation does arise, then they are better at directing staff at the unknown area's rather than ME wasting there time (Knowing I'm no threat) when they could be better utilised in area's they are more needed to be elsewhere due to security reasons. That's why I do it, and I can't stress enough... always, sorry I'll say that again ALWAYS... go back and say thank you for letting me take the photo's I wanted and let them know that you are leaving the station as and when you are ready to do so. I have several family in Security and in the Police... and that's why sometimes the simple things of saying Thank You can go a long way, and leaves it open for the next time I visit. Common Sense.... seems to be a common theme here lol Regards Jamie
  9. Hi Denbridge Gatewick maybe but Heathrow on the 4 occasions. The Police twice few days later admitted and said that they were wrong and there was no drones sited, it was all hear say, like most things, people will believe any source that is not always factual and proven... and on the third attempt, 10 days later, the Police said we can't even be sure if it was one of our Done's looking for the other Drone in the process in the dark and therefore may have got cross lines in the communication of. That's the only reasons I think it was in some way a setup... for regulating it but I could be wrong, 'it not unusual' as Tom Jones says... lol I've have however tried flying the drone in the dark, after that event to see how possible the likely hood is to see and fly in the dark... you may hear the drone but after so far up it becomes invisible and the sound fades totally then you have to rely on the on board camera to see what the drown is looking at, and in order to point it in the direction you want it to travel to and with only 2MP Camera, I had difficulty seeing the street lights in the distance... I mean I know I live in the middle of nowhere and lighting is always an issue at night but for Astronomy its brilliant.... lol Interesting anyway... Regards Jamie
  10. Hi Anthony I will not promise at this point but it is an option and like I said it would be to get the whole Viaducts in one picture. I will drain my other avenues first and us my camera over two day probably 3, if I use my drone, I plan to,,, Day One, to take what I can from where the Front Cover Book of the Viaduct was taken from and using my 300mm Zoom to see what I get from that view point. Day Two, Down on the beach and my higher Mega Pixel Camera for all the close-ups of the Modelling type photo's I like to take from the First Arch to the Last... just in case there are differences between each arch and I say that more so on the foundation rocks, the Viaduct is sitting on.... after looking at the photo you uploaded with the dog in the photo. Maybe in Summer and longer nights I will try the Drone for that one shot or two.... ok... 24, Stop.... round it off... 100... lol I can hear my brother say... Jay... you didn't take a photo of the graffiti... Oh I will if there is, Trust me... lol Your coming over in September 2020, NICE... I would love to meet you if possible... WHHR Book shop in Porthmadog is a well worth a visit and ride the short Narrow Gauge Railway... PM nearer the time of where you are staying and I'll pop over as you are right on my door step... it would be a shame not to see you in person. Regards Jamie
  11. Hi Simon Yes, I am with you on that first part... lol Second part reminded me of few of the questions in the exam, regards Police/Air Ambulance Helicopter or other much larger People carrying planes is flying in the direction of your drone, What would you do....? The Options were something like.... A. Quickly fly you drone out of the way of the Helicopter and land quickly and as safely as possible. B. Fly towards the Helicopter so that the pilot can see your a drown. C. Attempt to gain the attention of the Air Ambulance to warn that you have a drone, by throwing a brick at it. My own thoughts process, while reading the answer's... A. Quickly fly you drown out of the way of the Helicopter and land quickly and as safely as possible. (... oh, Yeah, well that's what I would do if it was me, and seems to be a safe option, but wait.... lets see if there is a better answer...) B. Fly towards the Helicopter so that the pilot can see your a drown. (I was... like.... What the Flip... man... why would that ever enter your head... surely you get out the way... haha started smiling, and though, lets if it's A or C as they can't have two stupid answers in the one question...) C. Attempt to gain the attention of the Air Ambulance to warn that you have a drone, by throwing a brick at it. (I was like... noooo.... Why.... NO... BUT WHY...! I thought B was the funniest answer till I read C, then I was... oh yeah, that's a brilliant idea, I will have to remember that one, the next time I fly.... now when I do fly, it just brings a smirk to my face every time I hear an Helicopter in the distance, half of me thing quick... down it as quick as I can... (which I always do) but NOW... there's some apart of me that thinks, I wonder if some else, in this same predicament is now looking for half end'er or house brick to lob at the plane when it passes over.... I have to laugh out loud every time, it just the answer that sticks now for my sense of humour...) In Summery... Both B and C just made me laugh so much, I was ... like... well B. I was thinking, but that's what some Plane Pilots have reported in recent years about near misses of drones to near to the Airport coming in to land, which is why we have the mess we are in now, with clamping down... lol (Like you said Simon, over-enthusiastic amateurs and those that haven’t thought through the potential consequences of their actions) totally agree, but then parents can also be to blame, they buy these type of gadgets because our little Johnny will love it and and all little Johnny wants to do is open it up, go out side and fly it, without any thoughts whatsoever, and the parents are they backing them up showing them how to fly it. C. Just seems like what happened with the Heathrow Airport incident.... why would you... I thought I wonder if they have put these questions in the exam based on Real Police Interviews Questioning some suspect... and if so, is that what the suspect said... and if not... well if they didn't have the idea before, they certainly have the Idea now.... Crazy... Still say Common Sense with everything from Drones to Health & Safety... Trouble is today, we have kids leaving school without any Common Sense because... oh no one as ever told us, we can't...or what the danger are if we do... The Crazy world we now live in... Regards Jamie PS Sorry Anthony for throwing it off topic... didn't intend to... I do apologises.
  12. Hi Anthony Do you want the Signal Box at Penmaenmawr Station, the windows are all boarded up now, but it's still standing and is ail the original Signal Box...? If you want me to up load those as the next batch of Photo's...? Just say... We have had a bit of snow after the storm and heavy rain over the weekend and into Monday but other than that all good now, apart from the snow on the higher grounds but at road level all is clear to drive. Regards Jamie
  13. Blimey Colin,,,, what are the chances of that hey... you could even plan it could you....Freaky or What.... haha Regards Jamie
  14. Hi John Superb modelling mate, love the details, the close up of the PO look almost real How did you make the station canopy...? out of what bits to create the Arch from one side to the other...? Regards Jamie
  15. Hi Dave Absolutely superb attention to detail mate, I wouldn't expect anything less from you Dave.... Regards Jamie
  16. I'd love your Job Big Jim,,, how many years training did you do to get to where you are today bud...? and is there anymore training to be any higher in what you do...? without getting into management and coming away from Trains that is... Hmmm Regards Jamie
  17. Hi Anthony (and Ross) A good job done and it will look the bizz once you have it all flocked... Love to see the step by step photos, it helps ones less confidant to see how it is done and can only ever be a good thing to see your progress. So are they rocks that are just pushed into a wet, still setting plaster of some type...? Regards Jamie
  18. Hi BernardTPM I can't even sell any photos I take with the drone now, all is in the exam, so no one can say they didn't know, for whose that are qualified, and if I make money from any drone footage in form of Stills (Photo's) or Video imagery of Filming now, I would also need a Valid Commercial ID to do so, that would be another cost and another exam to sit. I do think it will stop the idiots that fly at Heathrow Airport and Gatewick Airports etc although that is debatable about the whole situation personally and at night to... Hmmm impossible to fly a drone at night in my eyes... I think it was all huge hoax and setup to make it legislation laws come in to affect and in the process made it now harder to Own one, and Use one and unless you do it for a business, in which case all the above ID's apply, it comes down to common sense at the end of the day... as soon as I hear, yet alone see a Police helicopter or Air Ambulance helicopter the drone is down till its safe to take it back up and the helicopter is out of hearing noise and site, a bit like all railway enthusiasts, they ain't there to steel cables etc off the railway which I sometime feel that how we are seen and portrayed as... I was pulled up at Wolverhampton station by Transport police back of last year. They are knocking the old Platform ONE down, as a New Tram station is being built just outside the main railway station so they are totally modernising Platform One and to incorporate the Tram station out the front of the Entrance as the Tram will to go onto Birmingham New Street, so I have been taking photo's of the station, as memories as how I remembered it as a child until now before its gone forever. The Transport Police wanted to view my camera contents, lucky for me I had nothing to fear as I knew what I had taken Photo's of... at the time I was taking Photo's of Typical Close-Ups photos for modelling purposes and all of what was on Platform One (as I hate people in my photos, even family at the best of times) once I said why I was talking the photo's, after he viewed the camera contents and I had already reported in at Virgin Reception Desk which he was unaware of that the Virgin Reception Desk knew what I was doing and why I am taking Photo's etc... and Reception Desk always stress every time I ask, not to take photos of any people, unless they with you as family members or are friends in your group, but luckily each time I have been over the last 12 months of taking photo on/off when I visit family of the progress of the changes of the Platform which is slowly taking place, I have spoken to the same Virgin Manager at the Reception Desk each time I have been there (Building up a reputation with staff is KEY) and she as got to know me and we have good banter together each time I see her now, she even says are you down from North Wales visiting your family.... that's how much she now knows me..., and she fully backed me up what I was doing and why to the Transport Police. (Bless her) The Transport Police then said, oh OK, sorry for troubling you and then he said, (and this is what got me...) He says the best views to take your photos is from the top level on the Multi story car park,,,,, I was like ...Eh... that's funny, as up until that point, I didn't have one person in any of my photo's as I was told not to by the Virgin Staff and the Virgin staff tell me every time I ask (It's like I can ever lip sync word for word what they are about to say to me, like it's some kind of script they are referring to every time I've asked) yet when I looked down from the top level of the car park, You can catch anywhere and everyone from the roof top... It's Crazy... (The laws an Ass as they say) it flipping confusing... it's OK, It's not OK... make up your mind... it's one or the other... TOTALLY NUTS...! It all comes back to Common sense personally. But I really don't mind being asked ever, because I know I have nothing to hide and an answer for why I am doing what I am doing for and is always for personal use ONLY (Gosh... Don't say your selling the photos for heaven sake, which I took away from the drone exam and needing a Valid Commercial ID Licence next...lol), I know they are doing there job and security duties and that's what I like to see the Transport Police doing... I would be more worried if they failed to ask what I am doing, personally. I have even had plain cloths officers show me there badge and ask me what I am doing in the passed to, and I always Thank them for asking me, as I am grateful that we do have surveillance and security in place whether we are aware of it or not, for that... I take my hat off to everyone of them... Truly...! (as much as it can be an irritant to have to be asked... lol hahah) Regards Jamie
  19. Hi BernardTPM Yes, I am aware of the new UK Drone Regulations BernardTPM since the Start of December 01st, 2019 new lawes stepped in (the last Drone flight by everyone and anyone was November 30th, 2019) and I have two Drones, both are registered with the CAA (Civil Aviation Authority), have the Fly ID Clearly marked on both Drones and I have passed all the necessary test and year payments to be qualifies to both Own a Drone and to Fly a Drone. I was actually looking at this very subject last night and Mapping it out and planning how to do it and where was the safest to launch my Drone from, as all that now as to be taken into account (crazy, cant even fly that as a hobby no more) ) it would have to be a low tide, to send it up and take the footage over the sea, it's illegal to cross the Railway Lines and the Car Carriageway or within 150m / 50m if not in built up are's, hence the Beach is best, and out to sea for that one shot of the whole Viaduct. I will try to photo what I can using my camera's first and Zoom Lenses then if I'm not happy with the photos up-close, (Which I don't need the drone for), the Drones will be last resort but its a valid option I can use and if anything would only be for a long distance shot to capture the Whole Viaduct in one picture, so I'd have to be 50m minimum away for that or even 150m away to capture that footage, but over the sea shouldn't be any issue, as my Hand Camera (DLSR and 300mm lens) will do all the close up work for the world of Modelling photo usage I need them for, just like the Footbridge footage earlier in the Thread. But Thanks you for the reminder, it better than I fine now or Prison. Regards Jamie
  20. Hi brylonscamel Very nicely painted to and the weathering look spot on, in every way, Regards Jamie
  21. So I'm guessing ever tower not only as a Type L2, D3 etc, but every Pylon is numbered differently...? Hmmm so I guessing like on the OLE on Main Lines that every Gantry as a Number, same goes for Lamppost to on a Motorway or anywhere else that that matter,,, I guess that is TRUE, so they can refer to a fault at such n such of place so to speak... the lightening struck Pylon xyz... so everything as a reference number of some description to locate in the times of a Power Out... Would that be correct... ? Kind of makes sense really... Regard Jamie
  22. Gosh Paul you sound just like my brother for Smeghead it's his favourite line to call his grand kids now... hoy ya Smeghead ... If I didn't know you better Paul, I'd say this is my brother I'm talking to right now, he tends to just burst out with Red Dwarf saying...lol Me... i'm more Friends saying.... Joey aka Matt LaBlanc as the best humour by far, Rachael aka Jennifer Aniston is the best looking by far. Regards Jamie
  23. Blimey Paul There are some great photos of Pylons there in that Link mate... Whats the type in Hazel Grove Folder like A Triangle at the tope and Four Different shaped arms.... those are unusual for the UK. Regards Jamie
  24. You are so knowledgeable Paul, how do you remember them all... and where the places are and go to and from, i'd like to know, you sure you ain't no Alien.... hahah Yeah... I know your a huge Red Dwarf fan to... again I will ask you as a good friend, you sure your not an Alien... hahaha.... if I said I was R2D2 would you communicate back in code like R2D2 does... lol Regards Jamie
