  1. Hi, Thanks Nigel I appreciate what you are saying, and thanks Charlie, the videos were very instructive and I can see that any adjusting of sounds is going to be time consuming, so I think I conclude that a Lokprogammer would be a nice to have but not a real necessity, so maybe I will get one later. Thanks to every one else for taking the time to reply. Regards Tony.
  2. Thank you, that's worth knowing.
  3. Hi All, I am a bit of a novice when it comes to DCC sound, I think it has now reached the stage were it is worth experimenting with. Most of my locos are kit built and steam, there are sound files available for a percentage of these and others that maybe close enough. Do I need a Lokprogrammer? Can I buy a used decoder and reblow it to a sound file that is more appropriate for me? I think I undersatnd that I can alter the chuff rate etc, using my dcc controller. What do I need to understand? Tony.
  4. Hi Jol, I have been studying your propossed track plan, and I have one suggestion, that you move the crossover at the right hand end in towards the platforms as tight as possible, this may remind you very much of the way London Road was as a through layout, but it does mean that platform 2 can be bydirectional. This makes better sense of the layout at the right hand end. It was rare for us to use the facility at exhibitions but could be fun in use at home. Regards, Tony.
  5. Thanks Jol, I will give that a try. I hope your building is not delayed for too long. All the best, Tony.
  6. Hi Jol, Could you detail how you spring the two front axles of your tender. I have several to do and yours all work very well. Regards, Tony.
  7. Hi, is there any news from the new owners, is the layout up and working, will it be going out to exhibitions? Regards, Tony M.
  8. Hi, I hope this posting is still live, I am looking for information about the coaling plant at Buxton, it appears to be unique in that the wagons were lifted and tipped into a hopper which was between running lines rather than over one and then the discharged coal was lifted, by conveyor or bucket to a small hopper over the loco. Confirmation of this lifting mechanism and any photos would be very useful. Thanks Tony.
  9. Hi Ron, Thanks for the reply, I had missed that detail, I for one would like more detail, I have had some success with structure modeling but making a start is the hardest part and any new techniques may spur me and others to give it a try. Regards, Tony.
  10. Hi Ron, I must say the size of your project is breathtaking and the execution is superb. I am surprised no one has asked so far, but could you give us all some details of your methods of constructing brick structures, we can see the overall effect but the detail would be very useful. Thanks Tony.
