  1. It makes me smile when the punters bring in absolutely knackered and f*cked items which have been kept for the past 5 decades in a damp shed/dusty vermin infested attic/old world war one latrine or similar, but, it's a much treasured family heirloom which holds so many memories of the original owner/family member/punter as a child and is so irreplaceable. Yeah, right! Mike.
  2. Enjoyed the rather nice, well observed Bluish at York today, can't beat a bit of Woodhead! Mike.

  6. It's telling of modern society that the tossers who harangue road workers don't have enough oil in their lamp to work out that, by driving their car/vehicle, are causing the need for the roadworks in the first place. You can't cure stupid. Mike.
  7. I thought that might be a limp-it wagon? Mike.
  8. I made my "regular" sporadic visit to the shop yesterday, still, as always a quirky fantastically well stocked shop with friendly staff. I came away with the bits and bobs I really needed, DCC80's and Peco code 75 fishplates, and a locomotive and wagons which, until I entered the shop, I didn't realise I needed! They have just taken in a couple of large second hand collections and are in the process of sorting them out, and, not having a live website presence, due quite understandably to the need for extra staff and it's attendant cost issues, it requires a phone call to ascertain what they have got, and having seen them, I'd definitely suggest doing so. Mike. No connection etc etc.
  9. I know from experience in Sheffield, and it will be the same in the black country steel making areas too, that the buildings really were massive, you could probably cover the entire backscene with just one if you set your mind to it! Mike.
  10. From memory, Anbrico did a RELL dooley back in the day, eBay here you come?!! Mike.

  16. 'To keep it topical they'll probably have Frankie Burgervan or whatever his name is as the lead character! Mike.
  17. If that's "playworn" I'd love to see what he considers knackered! Mike.
  18. The other great advantage of the original Airfix kits is that they cost less than the soapy flash infested Dapol version, £1 upwards from exhibitions! Mike.
  19. I'm finding bendy 3d syndrome is a widespread issue, both in rolling stock and architectural items, it's put me right off street lamps for starters. Mike.
  20. Yes, it's good Steve is sticking to the task! Mike.
  21. Apologies for not wading through the whole thread again, but is there a pipe receptacle missing from the underframe at the end of the van? Mike.
  22. Replacement MW socket connector thingy? Mike.
  23. I will have no part of that sort of stupidity! The satisfaction of throwing them out knowing I've upset someone is sufficient for me! Mike.
