  1. The FEPV bogies are under way. cheers Bob
  2. Thanks Chris, a few things to be done yet. For now it will reside in the lounge room. cheers Bob
  3. To those of you wondering if the 59 class was residing by now in the local tip here is proof it still lives. Today I lined, lettered and coaled it. Teditors nice decals once again to the rescue. cheers Bob
  4. Some progress on these buildings. Thanks again Nev, cheers Bob
  5. I was donated some leftover US building kit parts some time back by a friend. Yesterday I started to assemble the parts into some buildings a little less American with the aid of some cut and shut, additional styrene and corrugated iron. They are well under way this morning. cheers Bob
  6. Nice weathering job on the class 47. cheers Bob
  7. This model does lend itself to many simple mods for personalising it. Yours will look very different by the time you have finished Chris. No doubt this is proving to be a lot of fun. cheers Bob
  8. I used the Archer rivets on the 59 class tender, they come up quite OK. cheers Bob
  9. Well spotted, sorry I cant offer a prize Chris. :>) The fluting was done using some strips of styrene epoxied to the rods. I used 10X20 thou but 20x20 might be bit more prominent.
  10. Very nice Chris, I suspect there are going to be a variety of mods done to this model. Be interesting to see what changes are made if the 30T is made for a few buyers. Cheers Bob
  11. More scenic work taking place recently. Spot the subtle ( perhaps too subtle) difference. :>) cheers Bob
  12. Replacement of urethane parts with w/m would be a big plus for me. I have steered clear of models with urethane as it has a checkered history being used outdoors at my place. An ETS 48 might be a winner. :> ) You can never have too many 48's. cheers Bob
  13. So you now have a long distance 30 tank Chris, well done. If MOK had 30 classes for sale then they would no doubt advertise them Marty...... and I would have one instead of an ETS version. If anyone wants a 30 at the moment only ETS is offering. cheers Bob
  14. Ahh so that is where he went. Know his reputation well. thanks Bob
  15. Hi Chris, while on facebook I decided to search for NSWGR O gauge and this link came up for BMWS offering 25 class locos and had a photo of 30T. Ever heard of them? cheers Bob
  16. Hi Simon , just had a casual glimpse over your recent posts. Not sure what types of lithium cells you are using but let the buyer beware when it comes to buying unknown brands online. I purchased several supposed A123 cells from a couple of different suppliers when Hobbyking ceased supplying them. None of the cells which looked genuine could deliver anywhere near the current of the genuine article and capacity was a manufacturers fantasy. I note you traced your issue down to the Tam Valley unit not capable of supplying the current but just be aware of this issue with batteries. My couple of BPRC models are just for use on non-DCC layouts and I live without the sound for the moment. The smooth and ever reliable power delivery of BPRC does make up somewhat for that loss. cheers Bob
  17. Nice work on the brake van. cheers Bob
  18. A short break in the showers enabled a run of HO yesterday arvo. cheers Bob
  19. Hi Chris, you might let those you know who have ordered a 30 class and would like a similar 30T that now might be a good time to ask Jiri as he has an order for a second 30T being negotiated right now. cheers Bob
  20. Hi David, it is slowly being re-scenicked. Hopefully less maintenance this time around. Not a lot happening at the moment, getting in some train running while the weather holds good. How is your layout progressing? cheers Bob
  21. Good to have a dream Chris, but yes, Shelley must come first. cheers Bob
  22. Hi Chris, getting rid of the shiny bits really improves it. That looks like one big shed to fit all that in. You will need it to justify the coal bins. :>) I look forward to the day I can see it under way. cheers Bob
  23. Hi Chris, nice job on the bin. Scratchbuilt? You will need a big area to justify that baby. :>) cheers Bob
  24. Chris is correct Marty, don't judge this model in comparison to a RTR version that is not offered and if it were would be in the vicinity of $3000. These are robust models built to a price and designed to work for a living. It comes in under a grand and there is nothing in the local market remotely to compare. I'm sure there will be many 'improvements' done to these models by individuals. It will be interesting to hear what response Jiri gives Chris. cheers Bob
