  3. Have you tried Gaugemaster? They certainly use Royal Mail for small amounts of acrylic paint within the UK, as I bought some from them recently. It might be worth e mailing them to ask about overseas delivery. David

  5. I've enjoyed all the comments about containers but think It's probably time now to get back to the photos and discussing the content of them, I hope no one minds my saying that. I have to admit I haven't had much time to look at the thread so far today as I have been "enjoying" yet another birthday, being 68 just makes me realise that I am gradually getting older. Yesterday I bought a 2 step set of steps, I decided that balancing on a chair to reach things on high shelves is no longer a good idea. An extra photo now taken at Carnforth in relatively recent times, 2003. It's just to see how my very early digital photos look as I will need to use some of them to illustrate particular places at some future date. Carnforth Class 175 Aug 2003 hols2 011 David

  8. A Norwegian coastal tanker, Solheim, registered at Larvik. She was completed early in 1962. The photo was taken at Shoreham, probably in late August 1962. I can't remember why but we must have sailed to Shoreham from Portsmouth in Dad's boat. The photo was taken with my old Brownie 127. Solheim at Shoreham DB111 David

  18. I've had another look at Dad's notes, he has written it as "might be" 31109 so you are probably correct. Many thanks, David
  19. Thanks for identifying the working for J2770. As for J3999, which I also wonder as to whether it was from Skegness, I think it was taken in the late morning as the sun is just on the far side of the line which at Swayfield runs roughly NNW to SSE so the sun crosses the line before noon. David
  20. Mike and Paul, Thanks very much for the information, I've altered the captions. David

  24. It is the same Maldon. Maldon is also a good place to see Thames sailing barges - one is visible in the distance in C1966. By the way, it's interesting to look at the present day views of the places on Google Earth David
