  1. It has indeed left for Bridgnorth. Will try to pop down tomorrow to grab a photo. Sadly not one of the great and the good to get a visitor. Mind you at least then you are less likley to get an Inspector.
  2. My mood has taken a nose dive, whether its the redundancies coming to pass, being told your doing a great job and we would like you to be permenant but whereas all the other members of the SLT have had a pay rise your not getting one, My son who is autistic having more melt downs , feeling my wife who has lots of health conditions can miraculously do lots more out of the house with others rather than at home I dont know but severly fed up comes to mind.. I sorted out some smokeboxes to solder up and some boilers which are ready for the next stage but lost the urge to do it. The only bright spark has been sending my book to the printers, it coming back needing some changes and having managed to make them, now I just need to add some more images as there is too much white space.
  3. Airband had won Worcestershire, but the investor pulled the plug on it the day before it went public. About 160 have gone since at airband and has meant about 15 where I am. I understand the other bidder who had lost should theoretically have been passed the work, although whether they rush to do it is nother matter sadly
  4. If you are somewhere that is not a town you may well end up waiting a lot longer or having to get a different solution. Investment in fire accross Europe fell last year by 66%. The Altnets are either failing or being bought out by others and otheres are moving from a build to operate model. Its not about total homes past now its more about homes connected. There has been a very large slow down in the roll out, Its a shame but its just the way the cookie crumbles. Anyway I thought EE were owned by VMO2.
  5. The honest answer is that unlike locomotive drawings those of buildings are very difficult to come by. I have spent months looking for drawings to end up just drawing them from basic measurments and lots of drawings. If a building has been altered and it is no longer in railway use you may find a plan from the council planning department, its surprising what is there. Good luck
  6. Ok so here we go with the buffer stop, if you can call it that of the siding going up to the station building I've got the negative somewhere, but not sure where The buffer stop at the end of the siding by the box is seen next - sorry its a very distant shot but is the best I have. It looks to be rail built, we could assume a standard LSWR one as was common eleswhere but I don't have any better photo to help comfirm that Another of the cremery Next the end of the Cremery siding. Not a great image, but it does not look like a proper buffer stop to me Now onto the buildings. The Dorset Central were very good in largley building to a standard design with small variations at each location so no too are exactly the same. Here are the scans of the drawings of the main buildings I finished. I found the original drawing I did this evening and can annotate scale on each as my scanner is sadly only big enough for A4 I have also partly done the signal box - the front elevation is 3/4 done and the south elevation about 1/2 done. It was at a time when my anxiety and depression was really starting to take hold and I got frustrated at not finding a view of the rear of the box and stopped. Its daft as I have also got drawings of the building at Stalbridge part done and at Wells. Happy to try and get the box to the point of being able to be scanned as all of my drawings are hand drawn. Hopefully they are ok Tim Chapman used my Templecombe ones to help him with his model and the Blandford museum had copies of what I had done in relation to Blandford. All the best Duncan
  7. Not so much teething problems as you would not put a brand new loco out on normal workings without a good couple of hundred miles running in and then loaded tests to make sure everything is ok. Blue Peter for example is doing about 1000 miles of running in and loaded test trains on the SVR
  8. The photo is from 1968. I will have a look through what else I've got on Bailey Gate. I can't remember if I finished my drawing of the main building or not.
  9. Does this help from one of my negatives. Think I have some more on a different disk
  10. There are alot of assumptions in this comment which are being kind very outdated and offensive to the one in four people who are nurodiverse. Its not a case of being rightly or wrongly wired, its just different to perhaps how you are. The implication in what you write is that no one who is nurodiverse should ever be a manager, really these sorts of views deserve to be left in the past just like racism, sexism etc. @AY Mod
  11. Indeed if they do a steam braked only loco
  12. That is only suitable for Stanier locos as opposed to Fowler ones
  13. That fitted to the Fowler 3fs was a Midland style, rather than a Stanier one. Alan Gibson lists this as 4M603 MR steam vacuum ejector.
  14. Thanks, far from it that's really helpful. I have found a frames drawing so am going to take punt on that and see if that helps. It was worth understanding if the GA had something . Duncan
  15. Interestingly ebay sent an email today on the subject of tax There’s no new ‘side hustle tax’! We want to give you peace of mind that there’s no new ‘side hustle tax’ or a change to existing tax rules for selling online. In general, if you’re selling unwanted personal possessions, such as used clothes, an old mobile phone or unwanted furniture, it’s very unlikely you’ll have to pay income tax. Selling personal items is not taxed if they’re sold for less than £6,000 and you’re not selling as part of a business. So, you still won’t pay tax unless: • You are ‘trading’ or buying and selling multiple items to try and make a profit or run a business. • You sell an asset for more than £6,000 (the level where the capital gains tax may apply). Check out these examples: Grace, Manchester Grace sells old clothes to make space in her wardrobe. Even if she sells a lot of her old or unwanted clothes, she isn’t trading and sells for less than she paid for them, so there is no tax. Annual eBay income: £420 Annual eBay profit: £0 Taxes owed: £0 Ben, London Ben sells his collection of trading cards for a profit. Even though he receives £18,000 and makes a profit of £2,900, he has a capital gains tax-free allowance, so there is no tax. Annual eBay income: £18,000 Annual eBay profit: £2,900 Taxes owed: £0 Claire, Bristol Claire sold her old furniture when she moved house. Some of the furniture was valuable, but always less than £6,000 per item, so there is no tax. Annual eBay income: £4,000 Annual eBay profit: £0 Taxes owed: £0
  16. Appologies on picking up on an old thread, I'm now working on a Gibson version. Does the GA lay out what each of the frame stretchers looked like? From photos at odd angles I can see bits but would like to make my model a little better Thanks in advance
  17. For such a small station in a very rural area it is a mystery. Were it a busier location you might speculate as to if it were somehow to have wagons on part of the loop and be able to run round them. However the why is a mystery. Do the Officers minutes give any clues?
  18. Ah well, thanks for taking the time to reply. The hunt for a drawing or decent photos of the frame stretchers and valve gear goes on.
  19. I am always amazed by your building and how quickly you motor through them. Do you still have the instructions for this. I am trying to improve a 4mm Alan Gibson one and it looks like the frame spacers are prototypical and I was hoping the insturctions might show the layout?
  20. This is on the line for testing only
  21. Definatley Saxby - If its allowed can I recommend (if you do Facebook) and have railway images which are a mystery the Railway Identification Group . We started it to help identify our own negatives and it has grown to cover all eras from Victorian to the present day and all around the world. The just over 3000 members have such amazing knowledge and we get recommended in other groups as the people who can generally help.
  22. Evening all, I have a pair of LSWR B4s ,but I'm not sure what motor / gearbox combination is recommended now that Mashima's are no longer avaiable. Can anyone recommend any please? Thanks in advance
  23. Thanks , yes, lesson learned and it has been added. In fairness if the thing does not sell this time I might take the motor out myself and sell it on.
