I guess the crib plate was a moisture trap?

Can't beat a bit of Hylomar! How resistant to heat is Belzona?

Blimey Guv, talk about Bodgit & Scarper! I've heard of some horror stories on classic cars, but the quality of some of those BR era repairs leaves Arfur Daley looking quite respectable! Sticking an inch of filler on, covering it with a couple of plates bolted on to it is worthy of an EastEnders storyline! Respect to you for the quality of the job you are doing on it now.
The cost & scale of these repairs leaves me in awe. Earlier on you talked about a £500 filter renewal, & a grands worth of oil change. I've just spent £500 rebuilding a whole A series engine!
Loved 043 in that early BR blue with two arrows-any thoughts about putting it into GFYE as per 5310?

Right, comment noted, I'll bear that in mind when I get that far.

Have decided that when complete, its going to be finished as 25294. The last 25 in GFYE, and I think the only one to get TOPS numbers whilst in green.
