  1. I coughed up yesterday for D9000/55022 sound version as it's the one I was hoping they would do on the second run. I know they won't do it but it would be nice if they altered the station announcements on the sound decoder to fit in with the locos career at that time eg Birmingham Ramsgate etc.
  2. I managed to add 55003 and 017 to my fleet today, much to the wife's disgust.
  3. Hi, I don't know if anybody is still looking for an accurascale deltic but there's a few available on their website today at 12.15pm, hope this post helps somebody save some money rather than pay the ebay prices.
  4. Just had to take the worm and cardan shaft out of one end of my class 121 as it decided to completely jam, now reassembled and running well on one bogie, just wondering if anyone has had a total failure after doing the above remedy? Lovely model but what a pain. We shouldn't have to be doing these fixes for the price we pay for models these days.
  5. I lived at Barton Drive, Hedge End and I used to cycle up Woodhouse Lane with one of my mates from the same estate, running the gauntlet of a Jack Russell on the way up there and used to watch the regular Western or Brush 4 on the Merehead Botley stone and the regular Peak class 46 on the Fareham stone along with 1121 or 1122 on the Eastleigh Fareham passenger train which started a lifetime as a railway enthusiast, they were happy innocent days back in the 70s.
  6. 55002 and 55015 from rails and 55022 from accurascale for me, just to remind me of the magic years at the end of their BR careers.
  7. Made me think I bought the blue and large logo mainline 56s when they first came out from the train shop at Warwick and thought they were fab at the time, still got both of them but with the first Hornby 56 chassis under the bodies which made them run better, but haven't been run for a few years, you're right, how time flies and how models have unbelievably improved.
  8. Sorry to bother you, where did you order the diodes from on eBay and which ones are they? As I have 2 31s which have the same problem, also are they easy to put in as I have very shaky hands. Thanks in advance for any help and reply.
  9. Well spotted as I didn't go any further than the link above and was disappointed. Will buy a couple of these but don't know when I will use them as layout has still yet to be built. Things only run up a yard of track. Has anyone else bought these and what do they think of them?
  10. Just clicked on the link to Hattons and the following is now showing "This item has sold out and we are unfortunately unable to obtain any additional stock of this particular product." Just when I was thinking about buying a couple of cheapy cheap decoders.
  11. Thanks for the list of Heljan Westerns, I didn't realise they had made so many. Plenty of choice to look out for.
  12. Some great Western and hydraulic pictures there. Just out of interest does anybody know how many Westerns Heljan have produced to date? I've only got the early BR Blue Western they made myself Druid, I am hoping the prices are going to drop with the Dapol Western out now so I can extend my fleet by a couple but prices seem to be pretty stable at the moment.
  13. A great outcome for you and a very generous offer from Hornby, I hope I get mine back by the end of the year although I'm in no rush.
  14. Having read the post on corrosion on 31 chassis not having a layout at present I went and checked my 31s in the loft a few months ago and found 2 out of 4 of the 31270s that I have got had the corrosion 1 with badly split corners at one end, I emailed Hornby and sent the 2 problematic ones of to Hornby and I must say that it is great customer service that they are willing to do the necessary repairs after all the years since they were produced and have had a nice letter from Tanya with a 20% discount from Hornby. They have been away a few months now and I am in no rush for them back as I haven't got a layout at the moment, I was just wondering what is the longest anyone has had to wait to get theirs back. This is in no way meant as a moan at Hornby as I think it is great that they are giving repair service to locos bought 4 or 5 years ago, just interested in knowing what sort of waiting times people have had.
