  3. Hi, I go along with the Dingham camp as my layout has parts that the hand from the sky let alone other beers cannot reach. They can be modified to include the 3 links if you want them but that is even more fiddly. I have found my own way of construction not following the instructions, it works for me but I don't neccessarily advocate it for others. Terry

    Heljan O Gauge Class 20

    Here are basic instructions for ESU 3.5 XL No1 end pick-up Red and no 2 end pick-up black, connect to TrL on decoder. No1 end pick-up black and no2 end pick up red to TrR on decoder No1 end motor red and No 2 end motor black, to M+ on decoder No 1 end motor black and No 2 end motor red to M- on decoder No1 and 2 end lighting red wires to U+ on decoder No1 end yellow and no2 end black to RL on decoder No1 end black and No2 end yellow to FL on decoder Connect red fan wire to U+ and black to Ax1 on the decoder. LS+ and LS- to speaker in area provided under loco. Decoder will fit sideways on into area below where original PCB board was fitted. You will have to extend a couple of wires. No1 end is cab end Terry
  6. Just had some fancy kit delivered. Bits missing and korean instructions!!!

  7. Discovered MP3 have been trying to convert tapes (you remember them) to this new fangled system. Some may think DCC is complicated. Give me CV's over MP's any day.

  12. After very poor experiences with both these organisations I pay more and go elsewhere. The service then recieved makes up for the cost :angry: Terry

      Good to see you back Midas. Or perhaps I missed earlier posts this last few weeks.

  15. Recieved supposed 26/0 from Tower on Tuesday it is without a doubt a 26/1. The folded discs are yellow which does not match in with the livery. Wireing in the Xl decoder is a doddle if you follow the instructions not your instincts. Decoder fits nicely into shelf provided. Performed superbly today under exhibition conditions with full white discs (to be replaced). must have been on Royal train duties. Terry
