Hi Guys I have two 07's with the hattons 6 pin decoders which work fine on a prodigy system, however when i put them on my main layout which is powered by an ECoS the locos have a mind of their own constantly running and then stopping then starting even though the speed is set to zero? Am I missing something re voltage or compatibility? Cheers Nik

I will go against the grain I’m afraid as a modern modeller and as it is advertised as the nw diesel/electric show I was disappointed more steam layouts than I could count In previous years it has been a great show but this year not fof me but I’m probably on my own with this thinking looking forward to next years

Hi Folks With summer progressing work on the layout has been slow however the first big forward movement happened this week. The first two boards have arrived from Norman with all track laid. The pictures attached don't give it justice as not good light and location, however Norman's trackwork is outstanding. THe other bits completed are as follows:- 1. all rail primed 2. Power base fitted beneath track for helping hand when locos climb the bank (hence the shine) 3. tortoise motors fitted 4. Copper clad fitted to the end of the boards work can commence on wiring to buzz bar and scenery and ballast. A trip up to Peak forest is scheduled for tomorrow to start collecting pictures and reference material which although 20 years later will help in the overall effect as I progress the layout thanks Nik

Hi wild boar fell On the national power conversions did you ever 3D print the ends to replace the Bachman ones or did you use the slaters card and replace them or stick them over the top of the Bachman ends Nik -

Well what appears to have been a quiet period on the layout build I am pleased to announce the first three boards are off to Norman Saunders for the track laying start with the powerbase underneath to hopefully help the locos to pull up the bank. Nik

Good Afternoon Further updates - Boards - now had a visit to Whiterose to agree final details and to see the incline in situ to show the bank up Peak Forest. As you can see by one of the pictures its a big gap to fill by gradient but great job done by the guys. The next part is to cork the incline and flat surfaces then off to get track layed. Only now is the size of the layout hitting home Nik

Good Evening Here are a few more updates, all the curved boards are now built and have been a challenge for the guys as the timber did'nt want to play and flex due to the size of the board. The next stage will be to oput them all on temp legs and see how they go together then we can work on the inclines. New legs are being worked on to include adjusters for uneven exhibition floors. Nik

I have a large fllet of Bachmann JGA wagons purchased both new and secondhand. However the classic problem with wagons has occurred in that some buffer heads have snapped off and I am enquiring if anyone knows of a replacement buffers either heads or toal replacement that can be purchased either in plastic or white metal? Thanks in advance Nik

Well life takes over hence no posts recently but hopefully small amount of progress will happen over the next few months. To start here is the latest plan with a small start on the cement works which to be honest has been an after thought but in reality will give a bit more sotrage for wagons but will help train movements. Thanks Rob D2 Great pictures. This has sparked questions in my mind are the lights in the yard new or were they the same type in the 1990's - early 2000's if anyone has any pictures this would be a great help? thanks Nik
