  1. Even though they still never bothered contacting me. not that that matters to the rails fanboys
  2. So I am in the wrong for asking a question and the dealer is in the right even though they still have not replied to a single email, or supplied the goods or given an indication of when they will cancel my order, or given an answers as to when they will be supplying the item I bought in good faith. Guess it's obvious we have some Rails fanboys here. Can a mod lock this thread as it's become pointless now.
  3. Hi I went with YouChoos for my 68 and can't fault it. Paul
  4. Having the professional courtesy to reply to any of your customers emails would have helped a lot in this situation All I asked was are you actually able to supply the item I ordered, not responding to those emails will only make me think the worse ?
  5. I have asked them to cancel the order, but as they are not replying to me I don't know what's happening. Paul
  6. I was thinking they were getting on the pre order bandwagon like with new releases take orders for when stock eventually comes in, now they are taking orders for when anything might come in, new or old. Never had them ignore my emails before though, so that's new
  7. Hi I use the Zimo MX622N in mine without issue and fitting is a breeze as well, just remove the 3 screws 1 under the front bogie and 2 at the back, body pops of then cab pops off. Tried a few different decoders before settling on the Zimo Lenz Silver Mini ok but pricey Gaugemaster ran likes dog with wonky legs Laisdcc ok but little control over slow running Zimo super smooth slow running The Zimo is now my standard decoder. Paul
  8. Shame I missed this the OAP resedence I work at would have loved this for the men to work on in their craft club and its only in Rochester. They have an old battered one they are trying to get working How did I miss this post:( Paul
  9. Hi all Anyone had this before with Rails of Sheffield Looking on their site the other day for a Graham Farish Black 5 and they had one listed that had a number change so you would think it was a quite unique model and the price was good, so I ordered it, selecting Paypal for payment, thought it was a bit odd that when I paid it would not let me use my Paypal balance but insisted on using the Credit Card I had on file. I was out and using my phone at the time and didn't see one little clue. When I got home I checked on my PC and after seeing this description "Class 5 45206 BR Lined Black Early Emblem - Pristine.(Originally announced as Weathered with running number 45216)" and thinking it was a custom job I then saw Availability: Ordered on request, How can you order a second hand custom model on request Anyone had this with them, whats going on. I have emailed them but not got any reply yet Paul
  10. Hi After talking to Gaugemaster, I sent it back for repair, came back working after about two weeks, but not put it back into full service as I had been using my old none squared version whilst it was away and had some doubts about why the Squared failed. With the non squared if there is a track short, ie accross points the unit quickly shuts down displaying something like SVLP and needing a power cycle to restart. With the Squared version during a point short it stays on just flashing the display and as soon as the short is removed it starts working again So my thoughts are it's not protecting itself properly, as IIRC that was when mine died, seconds after I ran a loco into a point I had not switched. So now my old one is back in full use and the squared is on backup duty. Don't know if my assumption is correct though as all Gaugemaster said was replaced part? Paul
  11. Hi all I am looking for a Zimo MX648 sound decoder and have a Zimo MX644D 21pin for a straight swap... My MX644D is loaded with Youchoos deltic sounds Your MX648 could have any sounds as obviously it can be re-blown but it would be nice if it had class 66/67 sounds already. any interest in this swop PM Me. Thanks Paul
  12. One thing to watch out for with this product and the clue is in the name "Lacquer" Lacquer is another name for cellulose, and cellulose paint can be quite hot and damaging to any non cellulose finish, it pickles acrylic finished so might do harm to your photograph, Halfords do a standard Matt varnish that I understand is acrylic based and may because better option for you. Paul
  13. Hi all Hope this is in the correct section, perhaps a mod could move it if not Anyone used Osborn Models at http://www.osbornsmodels.com what was your experience, good or bad. I ordered a couple of items from them a couple of weeks ago and have heard nothing from them, No Acknowledgement of order and no delivery and no reply to e.mails about my order. Fortunately it was a low value order so no great loss, but was wondering what other peoples experience with this company was. Thanks for any feedback on them Paul
  14. To re-centre the arm on the point motor, you supposedly just set the address back to 199, but watch out, I had three fail after doing it. Paul
  15. Hi I have found them to be excellent and much better than some I have costing double what they cost. Paul
