What might have been - Pacer arriving at Delph.

Has anyone any experience of using Modelit colour signals? The spec says they're not made to any particular style but are they reasonably realistic and reliable? I expect you get what you pay for as they seem very cheap but for signals on the far side of a sizeable n gauge layout might be sufficient.

Any advice on running an n gauge loco on track powered by a battery pack. It is only for a very small train -loco and 2 wagons - on a Christmas scene where speed should be very slow and does not need to be variable. I don't really want to use a standard controller for safety as young children will be watching/using it and it would be more portable. Would only be used in short bursts and the loco is 'old'. Thanks for any comments.
