  1. Congratulations to Ben and Mike(s). Revolution has been voted N Gauge Manufacturer of the Year in the Model Rail vote. Not only that but their Class 92 was voted Loco of the year and to top it all off the IPA Car Carriers were voted Wagons of the Year. Not bad eh!! Accolades that are richly deserved. Well Done!
  2. I have finally managed to put together Part 2 of the Direct Rail Services Story using N Gauge models. There may be a part 3 at some stage in the future but not until more N Gauge models are available. Revolution will be bringing out the TPE Mk5 sets and Dapol will be making more Mk3s, but they don't appear to be anywhere on the horizon yet. Then, unfortunately, I cannot see any manufacturer producing the Class 88 (unless we can convince Revolution). Perhaps the latest green Livery for the Class 68 is a candidate for a respray or possibly a vinyl overlay. We can live in hope. Anyway, here is part 2: Cheers, Ged.
  3. Hi All, I have been developing my loft layout for nearly 50 years and it has grown like 'topsy'. I have also been sharing videos of the layout for a long time to demonstrate the benefits of N Gauge. More recently I have been using the videos to tell a story and the latest is The Direct Rail Services Story as told using N Gauge models. Here is the link if you are interested: Cheers, Ged.
  4. I will be there, as usual, having bought my train ticket a week ago. I am keen to purchase the Special Edition Class 320. Does anyone know what the price will be? cheers, Ged. (another holiday in the sun for Stu!??)
  5. Hi All, I hope to get a Carmine & Cream set in Glasgow as well. I wonder if they will be charging the full retail price? It will be great to catch up with friends again. Cheers, Ged.
  6. To my surprise 2 more Hunslets arrived today. Lafarge and Harry Needle. These are exquisite models and fabulous in every way. Ben and others involved in bringing them to production can be justifiably proud of the achievement. cheers, Ged
  7. Sorry Ben, I should have checked before making wild guesses. I will try to behave in future!! Cheers, Ged.
  8. Hi I know what you mean about Xmas, but we only have 9 every year nowhere near your 25! I have no guarantees, but using previous examples, I would guess the early bird price will be available until the end of February. Cheers, Ged.
  9. Hi David, I haven't seen them announced yet. Ben and Mike often create maps to illustrate the working diagrams, across the country, that wagons have been used for throughout their history. They could be working on that before putting an announcement of the Revolution website. Cheers, Ged.
  10. Hi All, Order book is now open for the N Gauge Cartic 4s. Time to brush down the plastic!! cheers, Ged
  11. There doesn’t seem to be any information on when they are likely to be posted out. I paid in full when I ordered them so I am really looking forward to seeing something soon. Cheers, Ged.
  12. My sleeper coaches have arrived from KMS. I ordered a double set in all 3 liveries and I am delighted with them. Well done KMS Railtech for commissioning them. cheers, Ged.
  13. Hi Arran I know there are huge problems in China with manufacturing & shipping is another headache, but do you have any guess at an ETA for these wagons? cheers, Ged.
  14. Hi All I have been to every TINGS, bar one, since it started and I thoroughly enjoyed this one as well. I thought the range and quality of the layouts was good and there seemed to be the usual mix of traders. It was great to catch up with old friends after such a long time. I think Pauline and Avril are to be congratulated on putting together such a successful show considering the current climate. Rewarding too, that visitors were only 25% down on previous years. I have put together a short video of our modular layout, that we exhibited, for those who were unable to visit. All the Best, Ged.
  15. Just back home after a week helping daughter prepare to move house and 2 locos waiting for me. They are amazing! Very fine, exquisite detail and lots of it!! The painting and print finish is superb and the weathered version has just the right amount of grime. They both run like a dream, very smooth and almost silent. They put other manufacturers to shame and I am very impressed. Thanks again to Ben, Mike and particularly Sam for such a fine model.
  16. The 2 rakes I ordered have arrived. Thanks again to Ben & Mike for sets of superb models. Fabulous detail and nicely weighted. Could make an appearance at TINGS. cheers, Ged.
  17. Hi Ben & Mike delighted with the choice of wagon and the eras it covers. You can count me in on a few, as usual, Cheers, Ged.
  18. I will be there with the Northumberland Area Group exhibiting our large modular layout ‘Longhirston’. Hope to see many of you there. cheers, Ged.
  19. Sorry, it should be the driving trailers. However, on the real thing, they are the power cars and have the pantographs. cheers, Ged.
  20. Hi Nova Scotian Thank your partner for the compliment. It is funny, as one of my Youtube subscribers suggested I take up doing Station Announcements!!
  21. Hi All I have put together a short video of the LNER Azuma and a Class 802 in TPX livery. I used ElectraRail vinyls for the conversion. I have also included 2 Azumas coupled together. Here is the link:
  22. GWR set arrived and Adam’s TPE vinyls. Set duly converted but I wasn’t sure what colour was needed for the coach ends and the roofs. So, I took photos of a couple of TPE sets this afternoon at Morpeth. One set in the station and the other from a high footbridge. Now to find matching paints. cheers, Ged.
  23. So, I had to give in to temptation. GWR set ordered along with Adam's vinyls to convert to TPE.
  24. Well Done Adam. Those vinyls look very tempting. I’m not sure how long I will be able to resist!! cheers, Ged.
