  1. Hmm, that " bloke in a paint stained overall " was me, and working on it for 13 years does give me a bit of an idea on the colours and experience..hence the visit of James to clarify the colours.
  2. Not a chance of it ever running again, believe me i know. Way to much in restoration costs, logistics, running costs, storage and the best one...we don't want it too ( Crewe heritage trust etc ) lol
  3. Way over priced, we sell them at our shop for £5, the Crewe Heritage Centre shop that is lol
  4. Hi. Thankyou for that Royal Oak. Regards. Brian
  5. Hi, I assume you mean Durham Trains of Stanley & Crewe Heritage Centre ( as our name is on the leaflet, C.H.C ) As i'm aware there is only one "partner(s)" and that's Durham trains of Stanley, Crewe Heritage Centre have nothing to do with the model or the running of the business end of it we just supplied a train for him to scan, nothing more nothing less.
  6. I can't see what the other error is and i look after the original ! Mind you it's hard to tell from a photo what the problem is and i haven't seen the 3D print yet. No doubt Dave will sort it, at least he's picked up on it. Brian
  7. Hi trailrage. Seee if you can get a picture of the other end of the train that would solve the problem. You can then work out which coach is which, then the coach the coach you need can be worked out by looking at it's window layout, ie; 2 windows missing or red stripe along the top it's the TRUB, Yellow stripe its a 1st class, no stripe 2nd class. Brian
  8. Hi. Chances are it was a TRUB 484--, remember that the train wasn't always made up of the original coaches they swapped and changed around, so they could end in anything from 1 - 7. What number you have there or was given could well be correct. Brian
  9. Happy new year to one and all, hope you have a good and prosperous one !
  10. We had one Redgate till it went "walkabouts" never to return.
  11. Hi all. Couple of pics of the APT in just as it was getting dark, sorry for the quality but it was going dark, also the power car 006 now as it's lighting properly sorted so now running from 110v
  12. Hi all. The power car gets a mention in the latest edition of The Railway Magazine, quite a lrge one aswell.
  13. Yes it is Rob. iIm in contact with Spencer now and again enquiring what will happen with the DTS they have, whether it's going on display or not. I asked a few months back if it was possible to pop over he said yes as long as plenty of time is given before hand as like you say, it's shut until 2020
  14. Hi Kit. Yes the model coach we have is from the Silk Mill museum and it was originally fixed to the DTS they still have. We also have the artic bogie that they used, what they did was disconnect them and put the coach we have, into storage. After a couple of years i was contacted by the curator there asking if we wanted it and if we didn't it was going in the skip !!!...needless to say i said yes so off we went with a long wheel base transit van and collected it. I had to take the window out of the APT so i could get it in ! Cheers Brian. P.S hope your well.
  15. That would probably be Andy Stephneys Kings Park or Hatch End. Regards.
  16. Hi Jamie. No idea who made the large coach as it was given to us by Derby silk mill museum, i would assume it was a publicity commission piece specially made for the train. Yes we are out of season now so most of the work will be done over the next 5 months, enough to keep me occupied ! Cheers Brian
  17. Hi Jamie. Good to hear from you . I haven't asked or mentioned anything to Dave about a 7.25" scale APT that would ruiniously expensive, besides Mardyke did many years ago.I'm looking forward to seeing the OO gauge one to come out, should be top class. Cheers. Brian
  18. Hi don't unfortunately Woodenhead, bit out of price range mate, but looking forward to seeing them come out .
  19. Hi all. Couple of pictures from the weekend with work starting in the power car removing the panels and removing the tables out of the ex coach ready for a new display to be put in there. A lot of scrubbing down and repainting in the power car is needed along with perspex panels to replace the covers that have been removed. The new display in the ex coach will include something that hasn't been displayed yet, so keeping that under wraps till the new season.
  20. Hi all. Been a couple of months since i last posted a picture on here so here's a couple. After about 8 years of having no full lighting in the ex coach, i have finally sorted it with the help of wiring diagrams bought from RDDS ( Heritage centre owned ). Well pleased.....now to find out why the tilt pumps won't come on when switched on, a negative wire perhaps ? Anyways now our season has finished i have plenty of stuff to keep me going and for a long time no rush !
  21. Hi. Yes a certifcate's easy to do, trying to build a curcuit of track inside the APT is another question lol
  22. It's great to hear it, i only caught half of the one on Sunday then got sidetracked, completely missed Saturdays. I will hear a full one, one day. Brian
  23. Hi all. Quite a productive day today all outside painting is now complete, pity i couldn't finish it in time for last week, anyways the orange cantrail stripe sets it off well, along with the blue cardan shaft, it should be lighter but still looks ok. Inside i removed some panels to look at the traction motor complete with makers plate, gear box, traction motor cooler, fault panel, battery iso and fuses, transformers complete with cut cables..grrr, tilt pack and aux cotrol cublicle. All of these will be on show next year along with a few more and also repainted up. Now there's no more APT events coming up i can now concentrate and getting things done a more leisurely pace lol
  24. Hi all. The TBF with the one door in the guards compartment is correct ( 3rd picture ), there isn't another door at the other end thats the store cupboard area so that is correct. There are two doors only on the TBF both of them for the guards compartment opposite each other the other end of the coach has the toilet then opposite is the store cupboard...if that makes sense lol. Kit is correct there should be one door either end they are laid out in a diagonal pattern, so it would be door then toilet, door, toilet...if you walk round the coach, so to speak. Brian
