The BBC and other Media often purposefully use a none "BR" track or train, to avoid an come backs from those depicted. At least it's not as bad as the Daily Fail using a pic of stored stock as a representation of the effects of strike action.

Hi, Putting rule 1 aside, I'm looking to run a domino blind fitted Class 47 on some unfitted 16 ton mineral wagons. Just wondered by what sort of year this had become rare to see. Obviously such a combination was already much less common than a two tone green 47 on unfitted wagons. TIA

With the move of TRACTION into BRM, the expansion of MLI - Plus to cover more general railway topics and the launch of Travellers Fare, would you say the BR D&E is adequately served now? MLI-Plus always looks fantastically well illustrated and a weighty publication, but is there that much to actually read in it? I need to download a TF issue to see what's in that, the contents of the first one certainly looked interesting enough. Just wondered what others thought about the current offerings?

What are people's feelings on how MLI is panning out?

- too late for this build but landscape from polystyrene topped with papier mache is light and durable (& messy! - though possibly no less messy than plaster) IIRC The landscape was done with paper dipped in plaster and topped with a layer of plaster of paris. - supermarket own brand cheapest hairspray over top of scatter material works. One to remember. - you could still use finer material ie fine sand or polyfilla to smooth out the road, pollyfilla sandpapered and painted a really pale grey makes a good road finish, just go over the top of what you have now? Might give it a go. thank you for the kind comments

That's the aim, would be nice to see it at a local show perhaps, it has a second loop at the back so two train can be put on it and swapped after a while

And here in lies the conundrum, I was sure that the Modern Railways issue carried the article of the 100mph section, but the April 1965 seems to have taken root....? ? ?

Lessons learned, The home made stone walls looked ok, but should have been much thinner The purchased stone walls look great and I should have used those, (but I didn't know about them when I first did my own walls) Plaster of paris is fine but gets heavy if too much is used, Not sure why the glue doesn't seem to take the scatter too well and requires another layer as patches show through, The home made ballast of road sweepings! could have done with a finer siv to have removed some of the larger lumps but overall looks ok IMHO, Even with the smallest possible circular "layout", it's surprising just how much its costs!
