  19. Hi, some pics cropped up on fb recently of diesel locos, class’s 27, 45, and 47 stabled at Kettering in October 1968. timetables of the period included a headcode for light locos of XX95 to Kettering LHS, thus semi confirming there was at least something there in diesel days. would anyone happen to know the years it was in operation and whether it had any staff? And where it’s locos went please. TIA,

  21. Issue 4 of the BR Chronicles is now up to 1963-67. Naturally the 1963 Reshaping the Railways report features as do other things such as the new Freightliners, the 1965 Trunk Routes report and the reduction of steam etc.
  22. Issue 4, 1963-1967 will be out on Friday 26 November 2021.
  23. shorting the track circuit would have shown up in the signal box, and while the track in rear of the “frigged” signals was track circuited, I’m not sure if the portion of like ahead was, as my understanding was that that went into an IB section.. and while the “driver” had only driven diesel shunters, Tbf at the time, 1963, only a smallish proportion of BR drivers on the LMR had, and where are you going to get a recently retired driver with mainline loco experience from?
  24. A good ten years ago iirc. I read that the signals involved in the robbery were those on an IB section? Can anyone confirm this? And the signal box involved please TIA
