  1. Yupb outatime looks like exactly that. I'll sort it when I get back from work now.
  2. Anyone else have this issue. 1 coupling and the hook on the opposite side. This is my first of the new age Dapol rolling stick so I may be noticing an old problem
  3. I have bought a chocolate and cream brake. Just opened the accessories pack and only one coupling still going at the back so ok. So fitted it and placed in a rake with 2 Hornby 4 wheeler's. First circuit it de-coupled. Coupled it directly to the loco (older Bachmann pree nem) same
  4. Humm ebay just informed me that the ROD Kerr Stewart by planet industrials is reduced to £99 + postage........ Advent calendar one for today maybe
  5. Hi everyone I'm after a semi decent DCC controller as my laptop took a dive and it's what I would usually use with my sprog. Nce powercab or Hornby elite were my target controllers. Cheers Richard
  6. Well I took the plunge. Tooling is pretty much exactly the same. The sound is brilliant. Not sure it justifies the price range but I got mine at discount so am ok with it
  7. Oh they have resurfaced on ebay. Uk seller does kit form https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/374798072154?hash=item5743b4b95a:g:5UQAAOSwbzBig3BF&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAAwFirF%2BxP%2BvMnbon2XYLJlTrNX7KY1LK8FlLAtZpYPD2DgGFSSJwbCfrYXNpkmKLy8a6DSwzDzKdJZNJ25FVF4bmVNPhQNdVdgubOlkHW8A54pq3akkXQ0BUHRvkpphnbK5VIefkK%2FgLoWDHWwXcwEJusGkuplEFuK7su2ix%2Fe8yH%2FVvRyx3TfLlIgQe0znvqh%2Fpjq53DdaUZkrSw9J8ksiBOlxWLEPiBLiMnU%2FHgfArNGvs%2BcqYXZM1pn8Z5nuj29A%3D%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR_7Bo4O6Yg and prebuilts https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/353725161660?hash=item525ba9a0bc:g:d58AAOSwB89haSGj&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAA4JJojFsANiuOuNWPcSkfionHhceyfMI4GLwG46CItC3KUrR3sYlR5mXh1YPyO0dS9f9R1nZZhr%2FMKdHCaELov2zlOTkQc9wKa%2BogzQoPM1sRtE%2BV3bOevfcZ38KKb88%2Fzxcqshwq3q7jiZkKhUwLP8CNGNsqyDNiQYCMHEnjv5gQY5o%2FiGOTbZ4VYRwk%2BLPTXGIGWrveqxbqcSB3rJHte%2F9gwSg6ZlOfQp4n0bg0JXa6%2BcnIl%2F48ttNls0v5dL1CTVxF8bE88k5XOnzqQOfpxqfznu%2B4oRodztLpliBFW%2Ffp|tkp%3ABk9SR6D_l4O6Yg The kit form ones work out quite cheap. Ill probably not match the yellow paint but all worth a try
  8. Thank you So far as I can tell its the same chassis but with a DCC board. Other than that its the same moulding. Is the motor the same ? I suspect it is. The finish of the paint does look wonderful I would agree. Also I have been tempted by the Dapol manor and I find the fact that you put them together with praise heartens me a bit to wanting both....lol Still I am finding it hard to reconcile myself to actually getting a new austerity as it doesnt seem much of an upgrade (I run DC and DCC) hummmmm
  9. I Love my Austerity 2-8-0's I have Army transport group (first release) Khaki 2 BR versions and an LNER All the blue riband models and for their time stunning. Recently I have developed a hankering for the new release (probably the army transport one). Question for those that have them. Is the new one worth it in terms of finish? Is the digital sound well done in your view ? are there any real gains in terms of getting it? Ive tried to find a good review but none seem to do a good side by side (apologies if its on the forum but I have not found it) cheerho
  10. Morning. Is anyone aware of where bachman got their prototype information from. I'm looking to renumber some wagons and am interested to see if I can track some more numbers in the correct font Cheerho
  11. Hopes its everything you dream of I would be interested to know how much better it is. The detail on the original is great (I have 6) Chassis always seemed OK Detailed pictures and opinions would be great as I am tempted by another one. cheerho
  12. Rails of Sheffield and NRM have a class 37 comission. Does anyone else have one coming through. My online search skills don't turn any others up. Cheerho
  13. Hi all. How are people going about solving the light bleed on the break coaches. My lner one is appalling and the end section is clear plastic with printed detail. So acrylic paint does not want to stick to well on the inside. I would rather not disable or paint over the lights in the end section. Hummm
  14. interesting . remove ....light oil...and its spinning again. I have replaced it in the cradle and now giving it a running in session. If i don't post again its all good. Cheers Guys
  15. Hi Johnster I'm just about to take the motor out so i will give that a try and give it a light oil first. lets hope it goes well. cheers Richard
  16. Well I decided that I would prefer to give it a final lease of life. So have cut off the worst bits and fixed it up. I promise to Up date you all when it grinds to a halt or turns to powder. If i can get 3 years out of it I think its worth it. When it happens I will probably sell the bits on. Thanks Everyone
  17. Long delay in getting back to this as I had to borrow another C class to make sure I was getting it right. Pickups fine, wheels fine, electrical continuity seems fine (fiddly thing to do) Placed power to sides of motor....nothing no hum no vibration nothing. Did same with borrowed loco it was spot on ran fine. So I have contacted Bachmann to find out how much a replacement motor is. Does anyone else deal in such spares. Or have suggestions of what I try next (with lubricant/WD40/turps) Cheers Guys
  18. Wow I never expected such a comprehensive reply and solution. I think I may well give that a try. Thank you so much. Have a great evening
  19. Disaster struck and my 66 got dropped. I have managed to fix it up and I am sure some OTT weathering will sort out the body damage. Sadly it is now only one bogie drive as the connecting 'shaft' from motor to bogie broke (the nylon rod). Just called Hattons and they are not doing spares for that bit. Still its powering away on on the one bogie.
  20. Hi Guys back again I have been getting locos out to service and fiddle with over the past few weeks. Couple of issues picked up and sorted (and headaches to ponder over ) But I have once loco that is just dead. my Bachmann 31-460K SECR grey c class. It had a decoder in but the DCC control said there was nothing there. Swapped decoder for blanking and tried on DC Still nothing. And i mean nothing no buzzing no attempt to do anything. Have checked wires, pickups and plug to tender all looks good. I suspect its the circuit board.. but thats not my area Anything I can try? Thanks in advance Cheerho Richard
  21. Hummm. I shall have to think on this. this guy on youtube seems more positive.
  22. Thanks Andyman After seeing it with the body on and the cracking looking bad I was expecting alot worse when i took it off. I have a hairline fracture that i will mark up to track if its getting worse if i do fix it up. Ill show a picture of it soon.
