Yes, you've made that point before and as I said at the time, I think you've missed the point of this thread...and the reality of whether someone is forced to buy this stuff or not isn't it. Even if it does sell on the basis that maybe the buyer's eyesight isn't up to the job of noticing the extent of the cr@ppiness, they surely will when it turns up on their doorstep! Then our chummy will be faced with a humiliating refund on the grounds that the thing's complete junk! His description signally fails to mention the fact that it's been stripped and sanded down by being dragged along a wall.

How anyone can think that's acceptable baffles me. They're both wrecks! The pro weathering bit is hilarious! (Judging by the quality of the "weathering" I reckon that's a lie but if it isn't this guy needs to be asking for a refund). As if that makes up for the brutality that bodyshell has endured.

I simply cannot wrap my head around that sort of stupidity. These guys must have had the collective IQs of a bowl of soup.

Many years ago I scratchbuilt an LMS Stove R for someone. When it was finished I posted it to him wrapped in bubble wrap. When it arrived it had those little circular marks all over the paintwork. The paintjob was a write-off so I had to take it back, strip it down and repaint it. That was a painful experience.

Indeed. I sometimes wonder why we still pay them as you never see a bobby on the beat these days and if you report a run-of-the-mill crime or suspicious person you're met with obvious disinterest. They only seem to be concerned with terrorism now which is hardly a day to day problem as the chances of you dying at the hands of a terrorist is about the same as being struck by lightning. It baffles me why anyone would part with money for that pile of junk...especially when it's advertised as such! As for it having "celebrity status", that must be a pretty low bar these days; Sam the girlfriend insulter ain't no celebrity.

Looks like it is although I still think that combination is extremely unlikely. If it did exist, it must have been a one off as the livery policy of BR at the time didn't stretch to the full title and a crest. The title was only really a stopgap until an emblem was developed and when it was, the title vanished pretty quickly. As far as I remember they were all were gone by 1950 so I can't imagine this combination ever seeing the light of day. I'm prepared to be proven wrong though!
