Women have probably always suffered from it, simply unrecognised as a separate "disease" , characterised by their normal wish to change things in the seasonal transition in the weather. Only when there was a desire to categorise such things was the change given a name, and recognised that men suffer from it as well.
Perhaps Phil, you need to get in the company of other individuals who would give you the impetus to "get out and do sumfing", which would change your perspectives and feelings. This is NOT in any way a criticism, merely a possibly helpful suggestion.
