  1. I gave the actual time so you only have to drag the bar back until you get to it. They took a while to fix it. Well over an hour before it moved and cleared the final crossing in the town. Keith
  2. When did L&NWR 442 ever get to Canton? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Named_LNWR_%22Prince_of_Wales%22_Class_locomotives Keith
  3. Probably works better than the 12" to foot version. Keith
  4. When I posted there was still three hours+ in the buffer. So at 21.24 still about two. I can still go back with a little time remaining now (23:06) Keith EDIT drag the red bar to the left
  5. If you go on to the La Grange webcam and go back to 14:28:55 you will see the last few cars separate. Just before the train leaves the street Keith
  6. There are at least three, probably four, rails on blocks. Keith
  7. Can't understand these cars that only have DRLs on the front. (Quite a few makes) Why? Keith
  8. And some close to 100mph station - station timings Keith
  9. The problem with St Moritz station is that the trackwork isn't really arranged for easy transfer between the two differently powered halves of the station. There is no direct platform-platform link line and a bit of shunting is necessary. Maybe a voltage switchable platform between the two. Meiringen has a switchable section between the Interlaken Luzern line and the MIB for stock transfer. Keith
  10. Don't give the politicians over here ideas. "East Midlands Trollies announce the 14:15 service to Derby" "West Midland Trollies apologies for the fast running of the 0930 Barnt Green to Bromsgrove - Customers are urged to hold on tight" Keith
  11. I didn't remove the plug and the bogie went straight back without a problem. keith
  12. They obviously buy them from this butcher: https://goo.gl/maps/VAqQKEKrv8F2 Keith
  13. Will anything really change? Most help comes from the Forum now. The only difference I can see that problems with faulty devices will have to be taken up with D R whereas at present it is Freiwald Co. Keith
  14. I think one of Herr Freiwald's problems is that he keeps everything (too) close to him. He is the Administrator, A Moderator & The Global Moderator of the Forum, there is one other Moderator. He also answers most of the technical questions. The other Moderator has only been on the forum 8 times in 8 years! IMHO it would be better if he stood back a little and had a "team" to share the responsibilities. Keith
  15. Another picture of it here: https://www.warwickshirerailways.com/gwr/gwrbsh39.htm A nice mixed batch of vans to identify! Keith Edit There's another picture of it in Pat Whitehouse's "150 Glorious Years" working a Class 7 mixed freight south through Hatton in late '64 Nominally withdrawn from Laira in 1963, after repaint it was temporarily allocated to Tyseley where it was used as a normal stock loco for a while before heading off to preservation.
  16. One thing that was not uncommon on US locos of that period was roller bearings on rotating surfaces which made them very free running compared to UK locos which still used oil fed solid metal Much less chance of cooking anything at high speed (e.g. Mallard). IMHO The F7 had every chance of beating the record if a proper go of it had ever been made. It was designed at the outset to run at 100mph for extended periods, with something in reserve. Keith
  17. What was fiddly about it? I thought there was plenty of room. Keith
  18. Oxymoron? Is that a stupid cow? Keith
  19. And when is a car not a car? (When it thinks it's a plane) Keith
  20. When is a diesel not a diesel? (kettle in disguise) Keith
  21. Nah. That was a spec of dirt! Keith
  22. Element 118 Organesson is categorized as a Noble Gas. However although it is categorized as a gas it is actually predicted to be a solid!!! I wonder how they new they had created it? Keith
  23. These were fast: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milwaukee_Road_class_F7 Keith
  24. Looking at local Google Street Views (You can see it for miles around) it was still there May 2012 but I can't find it afterwards Keith
