I returned my last two Royal Mail coaches as the sole bar level stripes and logos looked more like EWS gold rather than the brighter yellow on my previously bought coaches. By the look f the photographs on Andy’s posting, it looks like the GUV and Sorting coac hae reverted to the original yellow? Has any member seen samples to confirm? John

Have used Railtec decals extensively on my re-Sprays including large decals like the Old Oak Legends on one of my GWR HST resprays (see Parkway under layouts section). I have had no problem at all either with application or slivering. It is imperative that you have a good gloss coat to apply decals to and I always use a cotton bud to tamp over decal to ensure no air bubbles remain underneath. I alway leave at least 24 hours to dry in a warm area and always use an airbrush for final protective coat - never a brush. I use enamel varnish from Phoenix, Railmatch and Rainbow Railways semi gloss. All work well leaving little evidence that the decal is actually a decal. Hope that helps John

Hello everyone Have been following the thread since starting and, obviously, the MK2F has generated a massive amount of interest. My friend bought the Blue/Grey RFB coach (Non DCC) and asked me if I would do a re-spray for him. Have just completed the job and thought I would share with you all as I think it really looks well in Virgin Livery. It has been completed using Fox transfers and Precision Paints with a final coat of Rainbow Railways semi gloss varnish - all paints being enamel. Any comments, observations, please feel free. John

Like you, I had trouble removing the glazing on the newer Bachmann 37 models due to a stronger adhesive they appear to be using these days.An experienced modelling friend suggested I bag the body in a plastic bag and place in freezer for 30 minutes. I did this and immediately after removal from freezer popped the glazing out no problem. John

The Fox transfer numbers are 2mm high. The Bachmann DBSO numbers are just over 1mm. Which one is correct? John

Thanks tractor_37260. Just that I have some Fox transfers for re-numbering one of my Scotrail DBSOs and they are certainly a larger font than the one on the model. The model appears to have a font size more akin to the Intercity Swallow coach font size. John

There do not appear to be too many photographs around of the Scotrail liveried DBSOs but, in those I have seen, it would appear that Bachmann have got the coach number font too small. Am I correct in thinking that the numbers should be larger than those on the model? John

Hi Chris Thanks very much for your kind comments. I have been downsizing my stock as have ended up with far too many locos. As I have said before, need to crack on with the scenery now!!! John

Good evening everyone, A while since my last posting but at least Roy posted the latest video taken on Parkway. As normal, slow going with some scenery work but I have at least made a new length of wall for the North end of the layout. I wanted something better than I had to match the twin tunnel portal and single tunnel portal on the main line and TMD exit. I bought some Slaters sheeting and mounted it on plywood and e coping stones from styrene sheet. The photograph I have attached is post Halfords grey primer and a thin colour wash. Dry brushing is the next step. I have also included a couple of photographs of my newly installed colour CCTV monitor and one of the cameras. The two cameras are installed under the upper level so I can see the train formations are going into the correct fiddle yard tyrack. You can see by the photo of the monitor that it sits next to my ESU ECoS controller which I have also set fiddle yard routes on the track plan displays. Delighted with the CCTV set up (Buyee) with colour monitor, two cameras and lots of cable for £52.00. As usual, I have been up to a few re-sprays so have included photos of the latest editions to my fleet. 37114 Dunrobin Castle is a respray by Cairnsroadworks I had done a few years ago but have added the photo to show the new bonnet mounted car headlamp installed. I bought some bonnet mounted sets and door mounted sets from Lees Models and they are excellent and really make a difference to the locomotive. The re-sprays I have done are as follows and photos are attached:- 47315 This was Union Jack Bachmann 47 that I tried to sell on Ebay but no interest. Thought a change of livery would go well with my previous Engineers grey 37098. I had to fill in the boiler port and add a Hi intensity light to each end, change to white handrails and, luckily, Roy has come up with a simple re-wire for the Bachmann 47 that enables independent control of the rear trailing lights by use of functions 1 and 2 on my DCC system. 60095 Luckily, I had an extra EWS livery Hornby Class 60 so into the stripping bath and a re-livery into GBRf. It looks really well on the layout and I am pleased with the result. I used Precision Decals for the re-livery. 67024 Managed to get a cheap Arriva blue loco with decoder fitted for £95 on Ebay. As I had a rake of Pullman coaches thought it was a good opportunity to make use of Railtec transfers and add a Pullman liveried loco to the stud. 67027 Did this one a while ago in DB Schenker livery and when running it spotted that I had not done the grills black! A quick visit to the spray booth and there She is. Only problem is that I will also have 67027 in Colas guise so maybe put the red one on Ebay. Gents Thank you for the responses regarding programming the DBSO. Great that my ESU ECoS read the decoder no problem, well thought out Bachmann! My only disappointment is that the installed decoder is only capable of taking a 3 digit address. Having said that, what a superb model and, hopefully, the impending Oxford Rail Scotrail Mk3 coaches will match the livery John
