  1. Had my 404 running last night. Superb mode, runs beautifully. Knocks the Hornby 87 into a cocked hat.
  2. Called gaugemaster this morning, they have no spare sets. Not exactly surprising considering how difficult it apparently is for retailers to get stuff from Hornby. The set has also officially been discontinued so they can't even order one from Hornby for me. The best they could do is reserve me an individual NDM from the next batch due in summer! Hopefully Hornby can sort the issue in the mean time.
  3. Well, that’s not gone well straight out of the box, didn’t even turn a wheel Phone call to gaugemaster in the morning then!
  4. Complaints about a 'lack of detail' baffle me. It's a streamlined body shell, Hornby can't exactly invent detail to put on it, can they?
  5. Good Morning. We've been looking at options for signalling my Dad's Scottish region layout Creagan. We've been looking at the Dapol SR signals with a view to modifying them to look more like the Caley signals (UQ versions) found at the real Creagan. My question is, how feasible would this be? From the limited number of photos online it looks like it might be a go-er. A change of finial, removing/repositioning the tensioning weight and TC diamond would be a start. A Change of arm would probably be needed too, although it may be possible to disguise the SR one. We're not looking for 100% accuracy, but having working signals would be nice and I suspect that modifying a couple of Dapols would be easier than building the MSE kits that are available. Thanks Rob
  6. Hattons have also cancelled mine. Not a happy Bunny. Luckily Gaugemaster are more than happy to take my money...
  7. Yes 009 I was lucky in a way, as I’d left the stock in the house. I distinctly remember walking past the stock boxes as I finished loading the layout and thinking ‘I won’t put that in yet’. I’m hoping that if somebody does have it they obtained it through innocent means. I’ve been building its replacement over the last 12 months, so I don’t need it back as such. I’d just like to know what happened to it. It is indeed a TGR Garratt. I have two, the other one of which was knocked off a table at a show early last year (I’d entered it into a stock building competition) and needs putting back together!
  8. Three years ago today, my car was stolen from outside my house in the hour between loading it up and departing for a show. I know it’s a long shot, but I’d love it if the layout was still out there. Maybe it found it’s way to a charity shop or something and somebody has it not knowing what it is. It would make me happy knowing somebody was getting some use out of it...
  9. So the ever spiralling costs are not worthy of discussion? Noted. For the Record I could afford them easily, I just don't want to. I've just remembered why I don't come here very often, apparently money is no object.
  10. I'm sorry but £79.95 for a coach is just stupid. I hate to be that guy, but it just is.
  11. Would anybody be willing to part with one of the above Bandai '3' chassis please? Required for a project, but they're somewhat akin to rocking horse droppings these days! Many Thanks, Rob
  12. I’ve painted an LGB G scale 2095 into reverse two tone green and found the railmatch sherwood green to be much closer to the Dapol colour than the Hornby. Link if anybody would like to see...
  13. Wow! 36 pages has certainly made my shift sat ‘spare’ fly! This is what I aspire to achieve with my garden railway, all credit to you Bob!
  14. Took the words right out of my mouth..... a Hatton’s special perchance?
