  1. I can see this incident being the main evidence, to mark the end of weekday, mainline heritage tours. To have to shut down the ECML at 9am due to the amount of trespassers walking along the cess next to a 100mph+ mainline, is just not on. It's unfortunate should it come to this but It's going to cause loads of changes. Alistair
  2. The glazing looks quite a bit better. All that detailing around the panto too. I really cant wait for these now. Alistair
  3. If I remember correctly, when EWS started to get complaints from customers that they were sub-contracting out the work to other companies, namely Loadhaul, Mainline and Transrail. The customers wanted consistency, it was around this time that some massive yellow beasties stickers were ordered and applied. This might not be the issue here but there will be some corporate thinking behind it. Plus I quite like the 37'sin colas livery Alistair
  4. Possibly, but might be worth waiting to see if the 21/29 and when the 320/321 goes through. But having everything in one place would make it easier. Couldn't decide on which for the greenergy or EWS to order so went for both of them. I'm so weak willed! Alistair
  5. I expect we will get the same that we have had on the TEA tank page. Lots of notices to keep pushing those final sales and will probably get pictures of a final painted sample a few weeks before to really get those who haven't orderedone, really, really tempted! Alistair
  6. I have put the info on to all of the model railway Facebook groups I am a member of and got someone who didn't know about it until now. Hopefully 1 last push for the rest of this month will push it over the line. Alistair
  7. I'm not surprised at all, not with all of those pendolino's and 350's that have been ordered and bought. Alistair
  8. No thread as yet but pictures taken ready for it. Struggling to do pictures on my iPad. Have to sort my laptop out first. Alistair
  9. I have had no problem with some Peco 4 wheel vans, Dapol pannier or a CJM 92 bumping down the tracks on finetrax. Next to try is a union mills G2 then some Farish stuff but I'm not expecting any issues. I have 8 points to build for my layout will try and start that over Christmas. Alistair
  10. Big Jim sat chilling in the booking office at Bicester North station. Alistair
  11. As the Windows will be quite heavily tinted I'm not sure that it will be an issue as most of the effect happens when light passes through it which will be a very small amount. It was stated that this was a first shot that was quickly put together so that there was something to show at Warley, the small gaps could have been due to a bit of flash not cleaned or not pushing the part completely home to get something on show. I am very impressed with the model as it stands and a big thanks goes out to Ben, Mike and the Rapido guys for bringing the model this far in just over 12 months is very impressive. Alistair
  12. I have made an order. Can't have a Colas loco with out Jim in it. Might even get to paint in at one if Jim's old haunts, Bicester North, if it comes before my next bus replacement day. Alistair
  13. They are also getting rid of the motor in the tender with the drive shaft. It will be the first model in their new standards range, taking a step up from the current platinum label. Looking at 4th qtr next year, from what I remember. Alistair
  14. If they were going to do it, they would go with Rapido, as they already have the basic CAD work done.
  15. That's what I told the person who mentioned it. I thought that you would have announced it on here if anything had changed! Can't remember what mag they showed me that it had been put in. Alistair
  16. Dave, Been a rumour that this has been dropped by you. Can you shine any light on this? I'd have assumed that you would have put it on here. But better to check and squash it if it's not true. Alistair

    Ask Dave

Should be at noon according to the info on the NGF. Alistair
  18. 92's do seem to be pulled around a lot! Alistair
  19. Thanks Ben, Stock tray built complete with spaces for the 12 I'm ordering. Just got to sort out the cash and order them now. Alistair
  20. Does anyone know what the approximate length of these wagons over the couplings would be? Having to build another tray for my stock box and thought I would get it ready for them to drop straight into it. Alistair
  21. DRS, I think they are adding a sound option to any of them that would be added in chirk if they are requested, but don't quote me on it. It was something that I didn't clarify with the team as the 00 version wasn't what I was looking at! Biffo, It's a little hard to describe without the model making noise to reference it to! There is more of a bassy grunt when they move off (this could be a speaker issue here) and the air release that seems to be there all the time on the model is barely recognisable whilst it is on the move. It's just a couple of small things that drew my attention. Other than that it sounded very good. It could have been because it was running on DC rather than on DCC and that has skewed the effect. I'm not sure if anyone at the open day took any video of it to point it out. Or it could be that they pass my ticket office, so frequently that I have become 'detail deaf' on them. Might have to get out to the end of the platform tonight and have a proper listen to them. Alistair
  22. When you sort out your final payment you should be able to select your models. So I'm told. Alistair
  23. There was also a sound fitted 00 version of it running round on the test track. However there were a few issues that I mentioned, both with the body and the sound file which are going to be looked in to. Alistair
