  1. Thanks rembrow! I've seen similar with other companies and suspected that might be the case... my heart rate might drop a little now, phew!
  2. Is it real, or have most of the entirety of the remaining PreOrder stock sold out at Rails literally overnight... Or is this just a quirk of stock updates? Can't believe practically everything sold out overnight...
  3. Stop it!!! I already have the Rail Express / Hornby IKB 60081... I don't need a second one of the same livery in OO. Granted though, I have both an O and N version of 60081 🤪 ...oh maybe you're right - this time OO with DCC Sound?! 😉
  4. Hi Cavalex, hopefully an easy question to answer - Does the Analogue DC Class 60 come with speaker(s) pre-fitted, requiring just a sound decoder to upgrade it to DCC Sound? Or... Does it require both a speaker (or speakers?) and a sound decoder to upgrade it to DCC Sound? From a similar query on the 56 topic, I gather the DC Analogue 56 has no speaker(s) pre-installed, so would require both speaker(s) and DCC Sound decoder to upgrade it to DCC Sound. I also understand that to do so is pretty much plug and play, requiring no soldering... which I presume would be the case for the 60 too, if no speaker(s) is/are fitted? Thanks, Ixion.
  5. Thanks for the photos - was wondering how it was progressing. Looks good and can't wait to get one (or two). So pleased they are releasing a model of it. Also - I like the 'COFFEE' livery on a 'TEA' wagon in the background!!!
  6. Hi, I didn't notice one of those 'Badges' stickers either in the packaging or in the wagon box itself... not a big deal though (just a nicety). However, should there have been a Certificate (i.e. per the website description, below)? Common features: Pack of one wagon. Special packaging and certificate Thanks, Ixion.
  7. Hi Cavalax, Really pleased to see this coming to fruition and all the positive comments from people! Odd question though - I gather the speakers will be available separately and the decoder may also become available but, if you buy a sound fitted model, can you remove the decoder and speakers easily enough to fit them back into a non sound fitted one? I ask because I may order the special railtour pair with sound but only really want sound in one but would like to retro-fit a DC version of another. Thanks, Ixion.
  8. Great little loco! For someone who is almost entirely OO and N (my layout, not me, that is!), I do have one or two O gauge models. I have no intent on making a huge layout, perhaps just a single line, maybe with a siding and that's about it. Then, with No 20 being local to Reading, it fits right in with my interest zone. The price is particularly well placed too... Hope it's a success and encourages interest in further loco models in the scale. Any chance of an N or OO version though? 😀 Thanks, Ixion.
  9. I can confirm they are - mine arrived yesterday... though yet to unbox it but I am confident it is inside the outer cardboard box!!! Regarding the speaker clips, I was fairly sure they were on the website yesterday but I have lost track of time lately - must be my age!!! I will hopefully get some soon for a non-sound Rails special.
  10. Me neither... I guess it's done in batches? Look forward to an update though... I really like the models Revolution produce in both gauges. Cheers, Ixion.
  11. ...and not an out of tune TV in sight... ('Poltergeist')! You must have eyes like a Hawk... I'll get my coat! Ixion.
  12. Thanks Super-Sloth! I guess maybe they didn't get round to printing it for inclusion in the box in time. Never mind... what you've posted is really useful, thanks! Cheers, Ixion.
  13. I got a call about a week ago... hopefully you've had one by now. If not, give them a call as they're definitely in stock and I have mine already. The only down side was no sound functions list was provided with my model and I do not appear to be alone with sound fitted versions.. not sure if any have them, though you can work out most by trial and error. Thanks, Ixion.
  14. I got the STEAM Museum D1000 SYP and it also has no sound instructions. I think I have probably worked out most sounds, including lights, but it really should come with instructions. I tried using the Dapol website for instructions but that doesn't appear to work when clicking on their support page links. Has anyone actually got a sound functions list with theirs? If so, could you share it? Thanks, Ixion.
  15. That would be a great idea! Though I don't think the hall sensor would detect that - I believe they use such sensors to detect a magnet's position (by rotation of the bogie), to sense when running around curves. That said, the loco could monitor electrical pick up, which becomes very short term intermittent when negotiating rail discontinuities such as point-work but might require one bogie pickup to be used as an 'electrical listening' device for such discontinuities. Poor track quality could create accidental triggering though... An infra-red proximity sensor could be employed... bouncing IR light off the track and when the return signal changes, i.e. at any point-work or wide enough track joint gaps, create a clickety-clack sound... hmm, got me thinking an idea for a real working test coach...! Cheers, Ixion.
  16. On a serious note, I had a prostate cancer test as part of another ailment. It does not hurt, only feels slightly uncomfortable. It involves the doctor/nurse feeling inside your rear passage a short way (few centimetres). It is not violent, not painful and takes less than 20 seconds. For such a small level of discomfort now, it may save you a lot more later on. Hopefully a cure/prevention will be found and this is where charities such as Prostate Cancer UK play their role. So, well done to Accurascale for launching this one - I hope sales are full and it is total success. I have ordered mine already. Cheers, Ixion.
  17. Hi Crepello, Osborns Models did a non-weathered version some time ago I'm afraid... P/N: NDOSB003 (ref. Hattons database) and a quantity of 200 (ref. Vectis)... I have one in a storage box somewhere! Then, I think probably because they were popular, they did a weathered version as P/N: OSB-012 - which is still available I believe. Sorry to disappoint, though I am not sure if an all sand coloured front (i.e. non-SYP) was ever done as an N-gauge model, which may possibly be an option to add a half yellow front to if they ever do one (any other detail changes aside!)? I think they did an all over maroon one (2D-003-008) but... that was a mistake, I believe!!! Hope that helps? Ixion.
  18. Thanks Mutley... That makes sense, especially with the general release sound fitted ones not being available too. Cheers, Ixion.
  19. Has anyone actually received one? If so, with sound? I've had no contact yet, despite putting my name down for a sound one as soon as I saw them for pre-order at the Museum's yearly Model Railway Exhibition. I am hoping to contact them this coming week but perhaps it's just that the non-sound ones that have arrived so far as I cannot find anywhere that has one of the regular batch with sound in stock yet. Interested to see your photos of your D1000, Suzy Sulzer - always like the half-yellow panel liveries! Thanks, Ixion.
  20. For a minute I thought you were going to say you bought the real thing!!!
  21. I would read Accurascales comment about extra 31s as two more 'Accurascale Exclusive' 31s, so the RoS and Locomotion ones would be in addition - bonus! What I believe has not yet been confirmed is the Infrastructure 31116 for Model Rail... mentioned a number of magazine issues back. Mind you, that opens the door wide open for them to follow up with the class 47 and therefore 47803!!! Personally, I'd love to see the Network Rail yellow 31s (sorry Newbryford!) but a favorite of mine is 31601. Happy to see it in Wessex Trains livery, but could be FM Rail branded purple-pink, Fragonset Black, DCR Green, DC Rail Grey... not sure if it ever was Railtrack blue/green... or a multipack of all colours would be amazing!!! Either way, I am eagerly anticipating to see what is announced in the future. Am I right in saying the special front lights on the Network Rail 31s are in fact ultra-violet? It always concerned me NR having them on a publicly visible loco, especially when so many enthusiasts get to stare at them like moths attracted to the light...! (Probably not deep enough UV if so... for safety reasons I would imagine). Cheers, Ixion.
  22. Worth a look on Google Maps at the moment - around Fairwood junction the 'main road' passes over the two branches from Fairwood Junction... one bridge has a Yeoman train passing underneath it and from the other bridge (or nearby field) you can see another Yeoman (with AI 59) on the other branch! Cheers, Ixion.
  23. @Accurascale Fran @Accurascale I just took a look at the 37 DCC Sound decoders and think I noticed a typo... The 'Description' half way down the Refurbished decoder says 'with 'Original' Engine Configuration'. I presume this should read 'with 'Refurbished' Engine Configuration'? NOTE - The top title and 'Specification' entries refer to 'Refurbished' as expected. Hope that helps?! Ixion.
  24. Watching that video, I'm left very impressed by the length (36 or thereabouts?) of hopper wagons behind the 59 model... and no banker either! Looking forward to this model - always wanted to see this class in N-gauge. Not long now... Cheers, Ixion.
  25. Thanks for the reply. 074 did have the lamp in sector colours (Martin Loader's excellent photos show it) but perhaps not for long... Personally, if I had a model with the lamp, I'd prefer it in BR Blue as it reminds me of how fascinated I was when I first saw a photo of it in a book/magazine (I think there were two - 073, 074?). Thanks again and look forward to seeing the new models (and the 60's in due course too), Ixion.
