I know - you ask a question and I'll spend an hour or so researching the answer for you, then you ignore my reply completely, at least that stopped me wasting more time. From now on I won't be helping anyone who I don't know or has less than 1000 posts.

In a previous job, helping those sorts of jerks seemed to be in my job description. That's right - I was a "lab rat" (sorry - technician) at a university - so my job included supervising / assisting / mentoring students doing lab tests for their final year projects.
Thankfully, most of these students were great.
Unfortunately, there were also a minority who just grated - expected decent, hardworking, people like us to do all their work and all their research. Some of them even thought it acceptable to try and tell us how to spend all our work time (occasionally even our own time). One of these jerks didn't seem too happy when I informed him where the door was - and that he was about to go through it - then invited him to open it first.
Thankfully, these guys were in a minority - but they do exist. Like you, I've encountered a few of them on forum sites - and I agree that they make people wonder if there's any point bothering. All I can say is that these jerks can count themselves lucky that I've never been a "mod" on one of these sites - they'd be on the "ex-list" before they knew what had hit them ... .
This probably tells you something. Let's face it - anyone who really knows me also knows that I'm generally very mild mannered. I'm in my mid 50s - but I can count the number of times, in my life, that I've lost my temper, on my fingers.
That's right - I really don't like those jerks.
