I'd have been tempted to not fill in the left-hand side - I think it would have worked rather well with a brick wall either side, and a set back gas-lamp street-light as a rather dark and gloomy back alley "cut-through" to the factory behind - possibly with a "night-bird" propping up the lamppost. waiting for her feller to come away from work Far-be-it from me to suggest a "customer"!)

WHEEEEWWWW! Chimney clearance looks a bit tight!

I wonder if a Pickfords removal lorry might be a"timely" era-specific addition with a family moving in , or "flitting" - not sure if one of these would be suitable eBay item number: 262129606191

That is some drawing, Jamie ! Well done!

Almost a "Danny's broom" - 3 new handles and 7 new heads..... (but it looks very nice all the same - well done)

I seem to have just fallen off the bottom of your map!

It seems such a waste of space to have the big fiddle yard - why not have another, but completely different scene , and one can act as fiddle-yard for the other?

I don't know if this helps - http://www.artinstructionblog.com/how-to-paint-clouds-and-skies-with-watercolor
Use a pale grey background instead of blue and add the cloud colours on top in the same way- 2

Ian - The "13th Street, Miami" Boxfile layout in the current MTI might work for the group. Although it is N, an HO version may fit in an APA box

Not that I'm encouraging you, of course - and it isn't Sydney but a bit down the road/ http://carendt.us/sc...101a/index.html It has recently been extended and I think there are some videos on Youtube - not that I'm encouraging you, of course.,,,,,and you DEFINITELY don't want to look at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5JybRkB7a3A&feature=related nor do you want to search on Youtube for videos by glennofootscray, just to make sure that you aren't encouraged of course!

The detail shows very well on those - nice job

The only problem with steel wool is that it has been known to migrate towards magnets in motors, doing them a great deal of no good. I'd keep a small rare-earth magnet around, and pass it over the area every so often, in case of loose bits.

That is a really good weathering job Michael - very nice indeed

I wonder if you have thought just how much that little lot is going to cost you?
Assuming that they are all available
I'd suggest that it might well be a good idea to lower your sights to a slightly more reasonable (and sensible) level - somehow I get the impression that you are very young, and inexperienced in the hobby.

Michael - that really does look nice - I'd give it house-room!
-
Now that looks VERY classy!

We tend to forget, in this digital age, that there are lots of people about with oral history - often their stories or those that they heard from parents or grandparents - there was a fascinating program on Radio4 a while back - where someone interviewed an old chap in his nineties, and he was recounting stories told him as a boy by his great grandfather - oral history going back around 200 years, that had it not been recorded would have been lost for ever
