Does anyone have a PLastruct 90431 HO scale 1:100 CL4 caged ladder going spare - they seem to be like rocking horse manure on this side of the pond. Quite happy to pay a sensible price - ie importing from USA - shipping is silly!

Do any of our USA modelling members know if Centre (Center?) beam flatcars were built in anything but 72' lengths and if there were shorter ones, and if so, does anyone know who models are made by? Whilst I would like a couple of them in HO, 72' is much too long and unwieldy for one of my small layouts. Hoping that someone knows the answer, or if I am doomed to disappointment.

Sorry - just seen this on FB and fell about laughing.....!

Next to my garage, but over the fence, there are the remains of a cherry tree, that the previous owner employed some cowboys (of the travelling variety) to "trim". Needless to say the hacked off all the branches, and sold them all to a local wood-turner, leaving a very unsightly tall stump . The neighbours, who bought the house after she passed on, have grown a clematis up it, and the resulting Aviary is home to the msot enormous flock of sparrows, that seem to have moved in from a very large Holly tree further down the road. The racket, when they wake up in the morning, and settle down to roost in the evening, has to be heard to be believed!

Yes it may well be worth considering moving the run-round right hand end up one set of tracks, leaving you a separate runround loop and the main with a simple connection to the elevator yard lead and sidings area - The elderly elevator switcher then stays in its own area and the main-line loco drops off and picks up from the siding adjacent to the main - Good thought, Andy!

....... Unless it pulls cars from the elevator yard tracks onto the yard lead, pushes them back onto the run-round, uses the run-round to get behind them, and then is in a position to pull them back, and push them into the elevator. BTW Double slips - being expensive to maintain are very rare in USA - you may need to rep[lace it with a pair of back-to-back turnouts
