I saw five of these tagged on to the rear of the Tunstead to Bredbury aggregates stone train this afternoon whilst at Peak Forest. It looked like they have kept their original number upon conversion I think.

looking very impressive.
i like the shape of the baseboards
it was very deliberate to make the best use of the intended track-plan and to do something different than bog-standard rectangle shaped baseboards. just to be different I guess lol

Hi Martin, sadly no more outings at present. I have taken a break from Speedlow as just can't muster the enthusiasm for it right now ☹️. Trying to decide what to do as kind of stuck between a rock not having enough space to work on it and the hard place not being able to complete it quite how I would like it. So for the time being I am just concentrating on doing some stock up and seeing where it goes.

Hi Andy, sorry for not replying sooner only just seen this! I haven't got any more confirmed dates for Speedlow at the moment though I did have two enquiries at The Model Show, whether these will turn into full invites remains to be seen. I was thinking of putting it up at the Hazel Grove open day in June but it would seem that I will need to put up the club layout that I help with Smethurst Junction up instead. Sadly not enough room to work on layout fully at home and so other option would be to take it down to the club and share the room on a working Friday night/Saturday. My layout mojo has slipped down a lot as of layout and hardly touched the layout to continue working on it :-(

Hi steve22, yes Lucy Harrison, Chief Inspector of Trackwork Division often assisted (hindered?!) me with the track laying stage. Now the layout is back at home and the middle two boards are up and covered over with an old cloth sheet, she has taken to sleeping on my empty Walthers cement works cardboard box! LOL!

Following on from my initial posting I have taken a pair of photos to illustrate my layout and workbench. I try and spend a bit of time when I can doing some modelling either on the layout or on some of the wagon projects that I am doing. The Hornby Sentinel has had the Esso branding and livery taken off and will soon be undercoated ready for application of the faded ICI orange, white and grey livery.
Any questions comments just ask 🙂Cheers PaulPhoto of Speedlow layout board with my workbench in background

Very nice looking kits. Who are these made by?

Looking good Chris. The JMAs is one of those wagons I'd love to model sometime having seen them operating out of Peak Forest area over the past few years. The JMAs seem to have all but gone now and only the rebogied HKAs seem to be used now from Dowlow quarry.

HHA Aggregate Hopper Conversion - Building

Found a report in a back issue of Rail Express on these wagons it seems the conversion of these HHAs compared to the GBRf HYAs was less straightforward having to reduce from 4 down to 2 chutes rather than 3 to 2 on the HYAs. I took some photos of the hoppers on the end of the Bredbury but not the best as dull and drizzling and moving of course.
