  1. I've ordered 10 from China, I'm in no hurry for them
  2. What brand of Android? It does not work on my Sony Xperia. It seems that it is the os that is blocking it even when the right permissions are set. The app is making all the right calls etc. It's not that much of a problem as you say, so pretty low diwn in the priority list
  3. I guess the intended path for newcomers is to use TXS exclusively and just buy an approved DC supply for the track. It's not in Hornby's interests to make it easier for folks to use "Legacy" decoders 😉
  4. For me, no need for the wifi router and the known issues of operating in a busy exhibition environment with the wifi being swamped. You do lose the sync between the Z21 app and a multimuas handset though. Also the HM7000 app cannot control accessories at the moment, so the Multimaus will be needed to change the turnouts - no pushbuttons on Summat Colliery as backup
  5. It's a manual firmware update of the PIC microcontroller, can't be done over the air etc with the Select.
  6. I've successfully tested it with a Z21 snd will be running Summat Colliery (locos only) at the Mansfield Show this weekend 😁🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂
  7. Depends how the 37 is wired. I'm running an Accurathrash plus Hornby sugar cube in my DP1. speakers are wired in SERIES though.
  8. Also.... thanks to @disco-dave and his Team at Xposure Creative for completely revamping our website https://www.mansfieldmodelrailway.co.uk Who needs Ionos 😂
  9. Just create your locos in the engine shed and assign them to the dongle device 😁🚂🚂🚂
  10. Just posted an update about our main layout this year on Facebook and the website, here's a copy: Our Main layout in the lounge this year is Brinkley Town from our friends at the ERS. A brand new layout, never been seen before on the circuit. Here’s what they say about it: Brinkley town is a fictional OO gauge continuous run layout loosely based in the 1960’s to 80’s era. The layout has been wired for both DC and DCC operation to allow a wide selection of locos to be used on the layout. The layout also features an automatic shuttle track for a DMU running into Brinkley Road Halt. The main station consists of three platforms and an adjacent goods yard which sees regular shunting of a variety of wagons. Come along and be the first to see this super layout!
  11. until

  14. Oh, I thought it was going to be the Ricoh 🤣 Seriously, Warners, go for it 😁
  15. Top chap that Gareth ( @Trains4U ) 😁
  16. the question is why you would put a very much budget decoder in a very much high end loco is also appropriate?
  17. Don't get me wrong, some of the features may work, I don't know what functions are available on the 56 and what F0 numbers they are physically attached to
  18. Unlikely as I think I've said before, unless Cavalex have their lighting mapped as below: F0... Directional Lighting (HFO1 and HFO2) – (if installed.) F21… Aux 1 (High level function output typically used for controlling LED lighting etc.) HFO3 F22… Aux 2 (High level function output typically used for controlling LED lighting etc.) HFO4 F23… Aux 3 (Low level digital function output for controlling other electronics within the loco.) HFO5 F24… Aux 4 (Low level digital function output for controlling other electronics within the loco.) HFO6 Function mapping is not available for the HM7000 series Other suppliers are available 😉
  19. It's a shame they will just miss Summat Colliery's appearance at the Mansfield Show 1st weekend in March
  20. See you there sometime Steve, hopefully you'll find a seat in the restaurant 😉
  21. I would say that was highly unlikely unless Cavalex have used the same function numbers as Hornby for the lighting - the TXS functions are not remappable (sadly). Pays your money and takes your choice as they say.
  22. You are soooo old school Gary 😉🤣
  23. sage advice for any decoder. I never put anything else around a decoder apart from any factory fitted shrink wrap. As you say, insulate the chassis/body.
  24. Well that would suggest why the 2020 release lighting flickers. If they used a smallish electrolytic capacitor instead of a supercap the capacitance and therefore storage would be an order of magnitude less at least.
