[Silk Purse? – Airfix tender drive County]

While rummaging in the loft I found the Airfix 4F I had given to my son for his trainset. It was old when I gave it to him and must have been unused in the loft for about 15 years since he lost interest in trains. A little light lubrication and wiring in of a decoder and I have another very useful engine! I will see how the couple of Castles have survived soon.

[Across the English Channel]

We travelled from Brussels on the same day, but our train was the last one of the day and was delayed by 40 minutes but we didn't go all the way to St Pancras as we had left our car at Ebbsfleet which is very handy for south Essex. It was our first Eurostar trip and we intend to repeat the experience but probably Paris next time!

One of the many reasons I like RMweb is that on the days when I'm not feeling well enough to "play trains" there is something interesting (or funny) to read about.
